I love this pigment but I find it so bright that I don't know what to do with it. So I made lip balm. Here's how:
1. Fill an empty 10g jar about 80% full with vaseline. Just spoon it out of the pot.
2. Top up with some solid honey if you have it, or some vanilla essence, or any other food oil. Just something to make it taste nice
3. Whack it in the microwave for about 10secs. It should come out semi mushy/liquidy. Give it a quick stir and pop it back in for another 10 - this should make it almost totally liquid.
4. Add your bright fuchsia. You will need more than you think! In total I used about 1/8 teaspoon - although the balm seems really pink, the colour payoff will be very sheer. So do stir in quite a bit!
5. If it's starting to set at all (and vaseline cools very quickly) pop it back in the microwave for another 10 secs. You need the various ingredients to be totally blended and if it's in any way solid the pigment won't get everywhere.
6. Put it in the fridge with the lid off (or it won't set evenly). After about 15 minutes it will be set and you can check on it. If you need to add more colour, or mix it more thoroughly, just zap it again and repeat!
For me this resulted in a lovely sheer pink balm which makes my lips look flushed and bitten. Very pretty and very easy!
