I purchased a Mac e\s from Strawberrynet, way before I discovered the forum.
After reading here, looking at different guides, I decided to depot my e\s. There was that ring at the bottom of the pan!
Everything else seemed ok according to the guides, besides the ring. It even had that 4 half circles on the inner top lid.
I don't know what to think anymore.
