Which mascara has most curling power?

So far most of the mascaras I've tried weighs down my lashes right after I've curled it, like maybelline turbo boost, maybelline lash stylist and a type of YSL mascara. The only mascara that works is ZA's cutie curl and it's water proof, but it can cause my lashes to look spider leg-ish. I'm still looking for a new mascara, and I'm thinking either MAC's mascara X, chanel's inimitable or maybelline sky high curves. which would you pick, or are there any others?

Try Shiseido's Lasting Lift Mascara, it curls like a dream for me. Not only did it curl, it also thickened and defined my lashes from 9am to 11pm. The formula is creamy and rich. No smudges, smears, or flakes. It's really easy to apply too. This is a staple for me.

Lasting Lift = fake lashes.

I love Maybelline's full and soft (waterproof) mascara! I have long and straight eyelashes and it's the only mascara which I've tried so far, that is able to hold a curl for me. I love it

You could also use a small taklon brush to apply mascara to your lashes rather than a wand. It'll apply less product but still make your lashes darker.

Use MAC eyelash primer under any mascara. The primer seriously makes your eyelashes curl, and look way longer.

I have the MAC primer, but my mascara always clumps up after awhile with it. Any suggestions?

L'Oreal Voluminous waterproof, Max Factor 2000 Calorie Aqua Lash, Maybelline Full N Soft Waterproof (though it can get flakey) are all great drugstore ones I've tried.

Stay away from Sky High Curves! It sucks IMO and I have super stick straight heavy lashes. I find waterproof formulas are the best, regardless if it's a curling mascara or not. Maybelline mascaras are hit or miss for me. However, I saw a new one yesterday that's for curling and it has a primer as well. I want to try it out soon.

Shiseido's Mascara Primer, Shu Uemura curler, and any kind of mascara on top of the primer works best for me.

It's all about the Shiseido Primer, imo.

Use an eyelash curler-they only take a second (or 10)! You use it on dry lashes and apply a primer ,then a few coats of mascara, then turn your brush a different angle and tip off the ends. (I have gotten my lashes touching my eyebrows) I use a comb to seperate the lashes and a tissue to blot my brush so the product does not clump. I apply looking down, and then up. Also,Fiberwig (only at Sephora) makes a great mascara-like false lashes in a tube (its number 1 in Japan).

No matter what mascara I use, I have to have Shiseido mascara base underneath! I should really get a new tube of it, though. My current tube is kind of old, but it still works.

I'm currently using Lancome's Courbe Virtuose. It holds curl just fine with the base underneath it. Without the base, it's okay, but my lashes will droop a bit after a couple of hours.

Really, Shiseido mascara base can make pretty much any mascara work for you, depending on what you want.

Although I will say that this base + Courbe Virtuose gives me more of a "false eyelash" effect than anything else I've used. Even Diorshow.

Diorshow's a close second, though. My only problem with Diorshow is it irritates my eyes a bit.

I agree with both Dreamergirl13 and Ratmist. Sky high curves is TERRIBLE and shiseido mascara primer makes all the difference!
