This is a bit long. I'm in the process of applying for parttime with Clinique at Younkers for counter sales. Had first interview. Second scheduled next week.
Anyway, several weeks agao, I had also sent a resume directly to Clinique.
I got a call today from a different Younkers about 10 miles away saying Clinique forwarded my resume to them for a counter managers position.
Looking over my resume, I not quite sure what they saw in it to reccomend me for that. I am an administrative assistant who also does some counter sales at the business I work for. I have never had anyone under me as the businesses I have worked for were all very small and I was pretty much their main employee.
I did sell Mary Kay for a while, but I have not been in a position where I had to big time push counter sales or a team.
Anyway, I am kind of dumbstruck about this. As the HR for Younkers told me what the job entails, it is a lot of responsibility, but it is something that I know I can do with the proper training.
I looked up the description on the Clinique site and I would love it. BUT, I don't have management experience.
I explained to the HR from Younkers that called that I was in the interview process for part time counte sales at another location for Clinique, but I would love to come in at speak to him more.
Any thoughts, suggestions? I'm thinking Clinique thinks I am more qualified than I am. I mean I know I can do it, but I would need alot of training. They are not going to get expereinced management material here.
I am excited, nervous and scared and shocked.
