I just recently bought my first rouge allure and coco. I'm loving them so much that I want to buy more!

I have Confidentelle, Insolente, Mademoiselle, Dynastie and Santal. They are all so gorgeous.

Yep, it just takes one and then you are hooked!

Well I got my first Rouge Allure Laque in Santal today and I'm very disappointed :-( Didn't have the best coverage and it faded incredibly fast. My glossimers last longer. The colour is also pretty meh on me. I've already added it to my swap list. I knew I should have got one of the darker colours

Can anyone tell me how the Rouge Cocos Teheran and Chalys compare. I have Chalys and I LOVE it and I have the opportunity to get Teheran in a swap so I wanted to make sure they weren't too similar.

Bummer you didn't like it! I really want Ming and Santal, but haven't seen them in person yet -- I have seen them both layered over Mythic RA lipstick. I love nude lips, so hopefully it will work on me! Hope you get something else fabulous!

alright I'm admitting it. I'm a Chanel lip product groupie. I've recently been really into lipsticks lately and Chanel is definitely curbing that obsession.

Does Rivoli count as plum? I guess it is more wine-red. How about Rouge Noir and Ballet Russe?

As I'm on a red lipstick kick now, I need to ask, are there any must haves Rouge Allure reds?

I wonder what Rivoli and Rouge Noir would look like on my super pale skin? I should check them out. I've been very intrigued by Ballet Russe but I thought it had coral to it? Someone on here had it as one of their fave RCs and I thought it was more of a coral red colour?

Thanks!

When I tried Rivoli I thought it was going to have more plummy undertones to it, but on me it definitely did not. It was a nice dark vampy color but I would not really classify it is a plum. I'm probably around NW15 (I haven't worn MAC in years so I'm guessing) and it was definitely a statement lipstick!

Yes! Those colors are beautiful on pale complexions! Look at those models in that one link with Rivoli - they are super pale. Ballet Russe is next on my to get list. No BR has NO coral at all. Its a deep burgundy - vampy in deed. Just remember you can always sheer them out.

No plum in Rivoli. Its a wearable deeper toned blue slight pink base red.

Any plum Chanel lipsticks?? I have a gap in my collection :-O
I agree with the Ballet Russe suggestion. It's not coral at all, maybe you're thinking of Teheran?

Here's swatches of all of the first released Rouge Coco's from Karla Sugar's site: http://karlasugar.net/2010/03/chanel-rouge-coco-lipstick/

Ballet Russe is such a pretty deep purpley red-ish color...and it's on my ever-growing list of Chanel things I "need".

OH I was thinking of Rouge Orage! Oops don't know why I got those confused! Maybe I do need to get some reds and vampy colours. The only red I have is MAC Russian Red which looks great but since the only time I really ever leave the house and kids is to go to work I don't know if I'd have much opportunity to flaunt them...ahhh there are just so many things I need to add to my collection. I'm already crazy out of control. But at this point there really are things I'm missing in my collection. I need to just pace myself though!! Until I win the lottery ;-)

^^ Yes, Rouge Orage has coral undertones, too warm for my liking. I agree about pacing ourselves. I do not want to be broke and overwhelmed by my makeup collection.

I did think of Excessive but I'm not sure. Do you have Cambon RC? If you have, how do the two compare? Passion RA is calling my name. In the promo pic of the launch of RA, the model was wearing Passion. Does any one of you have it?

I swatched BR today. Pretty, but as it is very deep, I wouldn't wear it often so I pass. ;)

Oops, didn't mean to create lemmings. :p

I couldn't find Carmine l/l at the counter. It could be out of stocks, the MA said.

Does anyone know how Imaginaire Rouge Allure lipstick (not the Extrait de Gloss) compares to Imagination Rouge Allure l/s? They both look like lovely cool pinks. I am wondering which one I need more?? :)

^^ Hmmm..where are you seeing an Imaginaire RA lipstick? I know that besides the Extrait de Gloss there's a glossimer by that name, but I don't *think* there's an RA lipstick. If you're only seeing it on Cafemakeup.com swatches, I think we decided awhile back (I forget the thread now!) that was a mistake on Amy's part. I'm not sure if we decided it was really Imagination RA she swatched or something else. I think elegant was in on that discussion and may remember what our conclusion was better than I do?

So Carmin is a deep red?

No not really. Its a medium to slight dark red with a pinkish undertone. Its really the perfect color match to Rivoli. After watching that RC video, I saw where she uses/applies the lipstick with the rounded side not the flat side? Interesting. Do you guys use the flat side of a lipstick :) And, it makes me rethink even using a liner
