Great photo! I love palettes but am I the only one who thinks that alot of the colours aren't very wearable looking....esp the orange and brown shades....

brown is for the eyes I guess! The lip palette is cute... maybe you can mix the colors to create something more wearable... but I love tangerine on lips *___*

It could be a very sheer lip palette..... not sure if I like the e/s, but the l/s look good, though I'm not a big fan of lip palettes.

I love that lipstick tube and I'm disappointed now that it wont be released. I don't care how tacky people think it looks, I think makeup is supposed to be fun and sometimes you shouldn't take yourself so seriously. Besides, look at the Wonder Woman packaging, that was tacky as hell, we've had Hello Kitty and Heatherette crazy lipstick tubes which don't look sophisticated but people love them regardless. I think it's cool though. Maybe MAC will change their minds in the future and release something like those tubes, fingers crossed!

I really like the glitter lipstick tubes. Everyone complains they want new packaging, but then complains if it isn't what they want. MAC can't please everyone and everyone has different tastes. If they came out with that glitter tube and the lipstick color is gorgeous I'll buy it. I'm not really into packaging anyhow. I prefer quality over anything, especially these days with money being so tight.

I like those lipstick palettes also. Guess I'm not that finicky. I would really like to know what color that purple lipstick is that the mdel is wearing. It looks amazing in my eyes.

Okay, demoting us from Team Purple and calling us Founding Mothers of Team Tacky! I loved the tacky wonder woman and HK stuff too.

OMG, OMG, OMG, bring on the camp and over the top glitter and glitz. I think I am officially no longer a debutante and full fledge special packaging h00r now.

I know we wont' get the special packaging in that picture, but my excitement for this G&I collection is still thru the ceiling.

I agree with both of you that MU should be fun. However, it is simply not possible to release this kind of special packaging without significantly increasing the production costs.

If you look at previous LE packaging, you will notice that all of them have the same shape. The only design that changes is the actual print. This saves a lot of money, and consequently, LE special packaging is only a few $$$ more expensive than regular packaging.

Now, if MAC decides to create a couture collection, I'm happy (well, sort of) to spend between 40 and 80 bucks per item if the quality is right.

And as I noted previously, the packaging in question cannot be compared to Hello Kitty or Wonder Woman, as these are cult figures, where the design is already established. If it's tacky or not is not the question here - it has more of a nostalgic value that is embedded in popular culture.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for some exciting special packaging in 2012.

I agree. Love the lipstick tube and I would pull it out and use it with great pride!! I don't care what anyone things of anything I have because I assure you, I bought it for me and no one else.

OH hell yeah the Team Tacky n' a proud purple hoe!

A pity this will not be released but...damn...that would have been so much fun to collect. I collect 1 LE packaging lipstick of all collections that had LE, I love that they r easy to tell apart and how tacky most of them are lol.
