I'd love to see the olive fluidline. But even if I decided to get it, I think I'm definitely going to get the 2 green Superslick eye liners. I just realized it has been 2 years since Fabulous Felines and the Superslick liners came out. I bought 2 thinking I would eventually buy more but I never did. Every time I go into Mac, I look at them. I haven't really been using my fluidlines lately but I have been using liquid liners a lot and have been buying ones from other brands. I already have all the other fludline line colors in this collection except for blacktrack but I have Blitz and Glitz which I think probably looks the same on the eye.

Yes, that is why I wasn't sure at first that this was the fall collection. But maybe Mac is doing smaller collections to ensure more sellouts. If I remember right, there were still some products from Mac Me Over around for a while. Plus, as much as I love Heavenly Creatures, I'm surprised the display is still out when I go into stores. Maybe the smaller collections are a new selling strategy or something.

I hope it fades quickly since I prefer to wear foundation to work.

I sympathize and empathize.

I was just at a special two-week long camping event with about 10,000 other people from all other the world. I was sleeping in a medieval style tent - mine has a 12' X 16' footprint and is about 8' at the highest point, so quite comfy - and wearing medieval or renaissance period clothing, so mostly covered up - just feet, hands, neck and face sticking out. And i spent most of my days teaching and taking classes, which were held in tents, on various med-ren subjects (making historic clothing, cooking med-ren food, embroidery and various textile arts, etc.). So i was rarely out in direct sun.

I applied SPF 45 - and sometimes even 70 - every AM and reapplied several times per day. When i was out in the sun i had either a parasol or a big straw hat to keep the sun off my face. And my face and neck still got darker. Grrr.

I know my foundation is now too light. Grumble, grumble. Oh, well, i had a great time and learned a lot. And i know my classes were a success because i heard back from a number of students.

I know some of the tan will fade fairly quickly, but i'm old and some dark patches linger on.

Funny, I got three of the Superslick liners with FF and likewise never ended up picking up more, even though I absolutely love them. I need to replace On the Hunt (the eyeliner) since the applicator broke on mine. Not complaining- it lasted me nearly two years! Desires & Devices, the dirty green liquid liner, is really beautiful. It has a really captivating lustre about it.

I think that the smaller collections are probably just to limit manufacturing and inventory costs. We already know that Mac are sending fewer units to their stores of limited items and stocking fewer on line, so it makes sense that they would also try to have fewer items created. I personally think it makes sense for them, since there are really only so many things you can include without repeating and the more items are included, the more chances that something could go terribly wrong.

Just get a sample from your counter. This should last you until your tan wears off. :)

That's exactly what I did today. I went in today and my MUA bestie gave me full samples of F&B C3 as well as MM 2 and MM 3 to blend. I'm normally F&B C2 and MM 1.5. At least I can go to work looking more polished now.

I hear ya. I don't tan quite as evenly as I used to. Serves me right for roasting myself from the ages of 15 or so until my mid-20s. Sheesh - what was I thinking? (That I looked good, that's what I was thinking). Apart from that, I grew up spending summers at my grandparents' cottage on the lake. In those days, we didn't wear any sun protection and I was hugely tanned by the end of the summer. It took months to fully fade.

I'm keeping up with my Clarisonic (my skin tolerates the deep cleansing brush daily - in fact I'm sure I could use it twice daily if I wanted to because I have some days) and staying out of the sun for now. I'll fade.

I LOVE the Superslick Liquid Eye Liners. I now have 5:
-- Smokey Heir - dark violet
-- Nocturnal - metallic silver
-- Pure Show - metallic gold
-- Defiantly Feline - rich brown
-- Desires & Devices - deep olive green
and i want one more
-- Treat Me Nice - emerald green

They're convenient because of the built-in brush which i find works quite well.
I can get a really fine line, which i like, or a thicker application if i want one, and i can draw up a bit of a cat eye when i feel like it.
The colors really stand out - they aren't flat, they don't fade.
The liner goes on very smoothly and evenly.
They don't smudge.
And they're VERY long lasting - gotta work to get them off, but the MAC wipes work fine.

I have a few other liquid liners from MAC and from some other brands, but i think the Superslicks are my favorites.

I have some MAC Fluidlines, too, but i'm not as crazy about them. They can get smudgy, and since i misplaced my favorite eye-liner brush, i haven't found a brush i really like that gives me the extremely fine line i prefer.

I've been debating getting a Clarisonic... My cheeks are VERY sensitive, but i know i could use it everywhere else. And i'm thinking i need to up my exfoliating a bit. The MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator that was re-promo'ed with Heavenly Creature was not as harsh as i had originally thought - i got a sample to test - as long as i keep it off my cheeks.

I have Signature Blue and Defiantly Feline. I have been using the Lancome ones a lot though. I bought all 3 from the Lancome Summer Collection. I don't know why haven't bought more Superslick liners. I guess I have been too focused on limited edition products but then again although I bought the Lancome ones, those were limited edition too. Definitely getting Desires & Devices and Treat Me Nice with my next haul.

Thank you for the suggestion. I don't wear MAC foundations - haven't found one that works on my skin. But it's a good idea and i know where to look.

BTW, my local MAC enabler SA said they were having the release party for Style Seeker on... either the 23 or 24 of August, i forget which - that's in the US.

She's great. She phoned me to tell me they had several collections in the back room to test. Of course, i was camping almost 3,000 miles away at the time. And while i finished camping on Saturday past, i'm still away from home and unfamiliar to the folks at the local MAC.

If i'm home in time, i'll definitely try to check out the party!

I agree. And i think a little more time between collection releases would be good for many of us - gives us time to replenish our coffers from our last MAC spree!!!

Sorry to be posting so much, but, well, i HAVE been camping for two weeks - not to mention driving for 3 days to get there - so i have missed reading this board and i'm just jumping in all at once.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I've also wanted to go to a Renaissance Faire.

I didn't mention that during the second week there was a "war" going on with fighters in modern versions of various styles of armor from Roman to the 16th c. They don't use metal weapons, because the idea is to have fun and not hurt anybody too badly - rattan poles of various lengths mascarade as anything from swords to pole arms. There was also archery. And even a few trebuchets, ballistas, and onagars - big medieval machines that throw heavy objects - how fun!

I was an actor at a number of Renaissance fairs for many years. After being an actor, i just can't go as a paying customer, it just isn't the same. But i know lots of people do go and have fun!

And to bring it back to topic, kinda, at that camping event there were classes on Renaissance period make up. I'm glad we are not putting lead white or mercury containing vermillion on our faces.

This sounds super awesome! I am a history geek :D

Here is the "UGLY OLIVE" as promised! It's not as ugly as originally thought, I got one picture in direct light so you can see the shimmer and one not in direct light, which is probably what it'd look like most of the time!
