Oh ok. Wish I had a PRO store of where I live and would love to visit the PRO store again soon.
Yes the Pro store is nice in the city nice and I feel like the associates don't hound me every 5 mins and I can shop in peace. I have to plan to go down there if I go though.

The Vice palette is a skip for me. I got the UD 15th Anniversary Palette - i was so anxious, because i missed out on the 15th Anniversary 24/7 Pencil set.

So i'm definitely looking to add some ED e/s - i just wish we had some ferkin' swatches already already.

Yes....Double Spin came into my mind too when I saw the swatch of Beauty!

It would be great if DE would be like Musky Amethyst because I love MA!!!
Dramatic Encounter - deep purple (A) = Musky Amethyst
I'm feeling like it won't be too hard to just skip these, since I've got all the others. I'll admit, I'm tempted by Innocence, since it's a frost and I don't have a coral frost (and love those light corals). It just feels like a "Greatest Hits" collection for the lipsticks and glosses.

I AM excited for the f/ls and some new EDES, and of course, Kohl Powers! Watch me get all re-enthusiastic once I see everything in person....but I AM going to TRY to resist more lippies!

I love love love the EDES. I went slightly nuts on them during the first collection and not only bought most of the but have backups of about half of those. I tend to have trouble with eyeshadows lasting on me but these stick around, over a paint pot. To me they're worth the cost.

I still use them as a powder eyeshadow, to me they really don't have the texture of a cream. They're very dense and slightly damp (I found that out when I broke my Modern Pewter this past week, grrr) but aren't truly wet like a cream.

One thing about this coming collection that bothers me, despite the reduced size of the pots, is that the colors (at least from the pics in that link posted a few pages back) seem like dupes of the EDES from the last collection. I really hope they are new colors, not rebadged ones from before!

I was sort of thinking the same, but didn't want to be a Debbie Downer. I don't think we had a Taupe though, not a true taupe. Okay, maybe a little obsessed here always looking for the HG taupe, not too brown, not too grey, not too dark, not too pale, not too shiney...

So I've asked this before, but I don't think I got any answers and I'm really curious, so I just have to ask again: Can anyone please explain to me why people love the EDES? What makes them so special? I didn't pick any up the last time they were around, so I have no idea what the hype is all about...but if they're really that amazing, I feel like i should probably pick up one or two of them from the holiday collection?

I see you've gotten several responses to your question already. But I'll add a little... I did not find them to be creamy but a smooth buttery texture. Someone said almost a damp feel and that seems right on to me too. For me, I fell in love with this formula for it's "Extra Dimension"al qualities. You can literally do a one shade on the lid sweep and look like you've spent tons of time blending and layering different shades to get the effect they produce. They are VERY mulit-dimensional. They grab light and cast different "looks" depending on the angle you look at it. I'm having a very hard time discribing them! I actually only started out with a couple shades thinking they couldn't be THAT much different from the TONS of eyeshadows I already owned. But, I ended up going back several more times and ended up with 3/4 of the collection! HTH

I'm guessing it's just creamier/more gel like?

I think I'll pick two of the EDES colors from this collection to try them out

To me, they are not creamy like a paint pot. Just a little more "damp" than a normal powder shadow. I described my take on their texture above. I still use a base under them. But I find a base useful under most of my powder shadows regardless.

Good lordie I am a sucker for anything "TAUPE" as well... if the word "TAUPE" is in the description, I'll buy it! Although it is difficult to find a true taupe for me it seems. Maybe I'll get lucky this time and find THEE perfect Holy Grail TAUPEEEEE!! Fingers are crossed!

Same here! Seems like I will miss out on Moth Brown, because the german MAC site is a complete mess (including customer service), so I will get the taupe one from this collection to make up for it. I was sad when the ED collection came out, because there was no taupe, so I'm more than happy to see one in GD. I'm dying to see swatches of it!

This is EXACTLY why I love the EDES! It looks like you've put in a lot more effort than you have :)

Pixie thanks for your description of the EDES. If it makes me look like I spent lots of time blending when I didn't, I'm really excited to try these products.
