I live in Sacramento, CA and this foundation holds up to our triple digit days.
That's very good to know! I need a sweat-proof foundation as I perspire a lot around the face. I should try to get a sample first as some MAC foundations oxidize on me.

I have normal/dry skin, so foundation never oxidizes on me. But in this thread a few people said they did have that issue with this foundation. I will say that this foundation runs at least a shade, if not two shades, light so definitely test it before buying. I normally wear NW13 and the NW 15 in this foundation is a little bit light on me (but I am pretty sure NW20 would be too dark). It is totally 100% sweat proof. I sweat a lot because of my medication, and the heat here, and I've never had a problem with this foundation. It just does not budge.

I got this in NW15 and it's a little dark on me? But it's not bad! I've been trying out the sample for a few days now and I love it, I've never found a foundation so high coverage yet doesn't emphasise dry skin! So impressed. My only concern is that I've possibly been using too much from the sample jars because there's no measurement, and that a tube won't last me long. I apply it with fingers and then go over with the Dior blender, maybe another layer.

Oh, really?
I'm sorry about what it did to your brushes.

>> I have no trouble at all cleaning my brushes after I used this foundation...
>> I kept the same routine: just with a basic soft soap (one with milk- same I use for my body).

Wondering what happened about yours....
I think it's the brush itself. The brush that got gunky was a Kat Von D brush with really soft bristles, not the type used in most foundation brushes. It's hard to clean. I just cleaned my other brush set (by CAO cosmetics from my makeup kit that I got from school) and it cleaned just fine with shampoo alone. Go figure.

Thank you for the advice! This is a foundation that I will definitely try before I buy. One of the smaller MAC stores has better customer service than the others, and I will get a sample from them. The fact that some people in this thread experienced oxidation concerns me as I am prone to that with some, but not all, MAC foundations. My skin is drier now than when I last bought a MAC foundation, so maybe I will not encounter that anymore. But I definitely need a sweat-proof foundation for the triple-digit temp days here, as most of my other foundations do not pass the test.

this foundation runs light ONLY for the first couple of minutes after applying it. It oxidizes quickly and will turn out to be your good color match. DO NOT BUY DARKER

this review has great photos that show how it's lighter at first but oxidizes quickly

Yes I agree this foundation applies lighter at first and then oxidizes slightly. Don't go off how it looks when first applied, let it set a few minutes to get a true match. Still seems a little lighter than other MAC colors though in say the Studio Fix Fluid.

So I went to a pool party the other day with this foundation on and some other waterproof items (MAC's waterproof brow set and mascara). I wasn't intending on getting my face wet, just sweating since we were in a heat advisory warning. But, with kids in the pool I ended up under water multiple times. My mascara and brows came off but lo and behold, the foundation was STILL intact after bring under water numerous times and rubbing my eyes. My foundation still looked flawless!

Okay update.. I had a bit of a bad day yesterday, and after I'd stopped crying I checked my makeup and lo and behold there were lines of red on my face where the tears had removed it. Not tear proof!

I've had great results with this foundation and setting it with Laura Mercier's transculent loose powder (patted on). This technique for me ensures the foundation stays in place and this powder is the only one that I can say keeps my face at bay with the oils. Of course, a little bit of the oils will show through around the 6-8 hour mark of the day, but I do not look shiny (if that makes sense).

The only thing I am having a hard time with is locating stores that have NC35 in stock! I'm typically NC30 in SFF (even during the summer time where I get more tan), but I notice that the NC30 in this foundation is too light. I would have to bronze myself more to make it work, but that's not a deal breaker for me.

Just curious as to what primers everyone is using with this foundation?
I like using this with MUFE's Step One Smoothing primer! Sometimes I put the Nourishing primer as a base (moisturizer) then the Smoothing and it layers on really well and does not feel cakey.

I am using a MAC primer -the pink one? I think it's called Natural Radiance.

I tried Smashbox photo finish, didn't like it. I tried Kat Von D's primer and I still had an issue with the foundation settling into my pores. But the MAC primer is PERFECT. It makes my skin look flawless.

I religiously use MUFE's Step One Smoothing primer. The day I wore it in the pool I used the Smoothing primer and the Mattifying in my T-Zone (Toronto was in an extreme heat warning.... figured I would need some oil control for that hot day).

I just have to say I am so in love with this product. I am a dental hygienist and wear masks all day. This is the first foundation that leaves me still feeling 'made up' at the end of the day. Great coverage and perfect finish for my combination/oily skin. I don't have to start my look over from scratch to go out after work!

I'm late to this party but would this foundation fit normal skin with dry cheeks and nose area?

yes but you will have to moisturize a lot before applying it
meh. can't stand that hassle. thanks for your input :) I like studio sculpt but tired of it or maybe it's just my tube that is going bad. but wanted to try something new with medium coverage
