Fake Wonder Woman eyeshadows

Exaclty! I don't mind buying cheap make up if I know that it's supposed to be cheap make up and that's the price I pay. But £51 for a fake "Mac" palette is ridiculous! However, it's the buyers' stupidity in this case because they hiked up the price. People really should do their homework before buying on eBay (I buy lots of stuff and always research before I buy). Still there shouldn't be any fakes on eBay, and then none of this would happen.

Some people might just be happy with the cheaper price. Just look at the large number of Louis Vuitton handbags that people carry around - and they are certainly well aware that these are fake. There is certainly a difference between handbags and cosmetics (healthwise), but if the price is right, some might just not care.

And the cosmetic companies could probably care less as they are not making any less profit as the person who buys fake (and I am referring to repeat purchaser here) usually falls into a different consumer category. If they can get a 24 piece brush set for 20 bucks, why should they spend 40 bucks on one brush that they buy from MAC? I'm not defending either side, I'm just trying to shed light on an issue that is prevalent in the fashion industry as all of us who buy from H&M, Top Shop, or Zara are basically buying cheap knock-offs of high designer fashion.

On one hand I feel bad for the people who buy these things, at least the ones who don't know what they're buying. I don't feel bad for those who buy it knowing its counterfeit. They can judge right and wrong for themselves.

On the other hand I kind of want to know how people can be that naive. If your buying fake Mac you probably have at least a general idea of the price of real Mac. Knowing that how does it make any sense that you can buy a giant eyeshadow palette for 20$ when a single eyeshadow is 3/4 or that? I think people need to use their heads a little. I know some fakes are pretty convincing but some of them just make me wonder.

Even the unusual Marcel Wanders lipgloss packaging isn't safe from counterfeiters :(

lol @ zebra prints.

the fact is that anything MaC is subject to fakes.. I have recently seen Christian Dior fakes, and some Chanel fakes too.. but since the Chanel is a very distinctive product... it is harder when they give wacko names or spell the names incorrecty.

Fakes are the bane of our business.. and this is why we have so much secrecy now.. it's so hard to have people copying work and selling it so cheap. They are about a year behind tho now.. doing the VV and WW..

There seems to be loads of fake UD Naked Palettes on eBay, the fakes don't come with UDPP and come in a cardboard box rather than the see through plastic.

I have seen loads of fake Guerlain too, mostly the 6 colour eyeshadow palettes, I have seen them in every colour of the rainbow! Crazy! I believe there's fake Rouge G lipsticks around as well.

The bids might be meaningless. There are quite a few sellers - in real life auctions and virtual auctions - who have some "helpers" to jack up the price to make the product more interesting.

Luckily, there is enough information available so that everybody who bids on ebay can educate themselves before buying a (fake) product. Creating awareness is probably the best strategy to fight fakes.
