MAC Styledriven Discussion

The Pro long wear concealer is coming out with this right? I wanted to try it, does anyone have a good review on it?

Prolong wear concealer is already out! It's at the counter, and stores!! I love that concealer. It stays put for days and days!! Definitely one of my HG!!! I love mixing it all with my long wear foundation to get a flawless look to my foundation!!

Since we're talking about palettes, for anyone that has depot (any shadows) do they move around in the palette? Or are they secure?

I am thinking about pink frontier. I might take a look tonight.. oh and hot paprika! However, I am super hesitant to buy these because they are larger and just take up precious room!

I put some in the Makeup Forever free form palettes and I had to attach a magnet to the underside of the pan but they stay put well. It depends on how strong the magnets are that hold them though. Try it out first.

I matched every Mega Metal with all of the photos that I came across of all of the shadows from the Style Driven and almost all of them are close to dead on in color. A few are different- but again we are comparing real life with photos.

Hot Paprika looks similar to the orange Mega Metal (forgot the name) in several photos- pan and swatch.

Wait, the Styledriven eyeshadows fit in the Make Up For Ever empty eyeshadow palettes?

I have alot of magnets that I use for my regular size Mac eyeshadows, so attaching a magnet on the back of the Styledriven eyeshadows is not gonna be a problem for me.

I'm gonna go CRAZY and get all the eyeshadows that I want from this collection and stop by the Estee Lauder Company Store to grab some of the discontinued Peacocky eyeshadows.

They won't fit in the regular MUFE palette that you get at Sephora.. Can't remember which, but one is bigger than the other. I think the OP is talking about the MUFE Metal palette that you get from MUFE boutiques. Sephoras with the boutique inside may carry them, if not, you can call their NY store and order one.

Do you know what is the size of the eyeshadow pan of the Styledriven eyeshadows or the MUFE Metal palette? Is it 36mm?

Off the top of my head, I can't recall the size. The metal palette has no dividers, so anything will fit in there. It's big, and holds something like 40 regular MAC shadows, so you will be able to fit lots of the Mega metals/Styledriven in there. Even the Mineralize eyeshadows will fit. :)

awww...shucks, I like my palettes to have dividers so that it'll look less messy.

If the pans are 36mm, then I can easily find empty palettes to fit the Styledriven eyeshadows.

I just measured a mega metal as best as I could (didn't want to damage it with the metal tape measure). It appears to be 36-37 mm across!

Where did you find 36 mm palettes? I want to go on a depotting spree!! Edit: I see them all over ebay, now that I googled! Is there a brand that you prefer?

I saw them on Ebay too and the prices are reasonable, but I just wanna make sure that the eyeshadows are 36mm before I buy the empty palette on Ebay.

There's usually a bit of room around the edge of pans, so they should fit. If I end up splurging on Styledriven, I may end up grabbing one of these palettes. If the shadows don't fit, I could always use the pans in there to press pigments.

My local MAC had an event for this, Posh Paradise, Fall Color, and Matchmaster tonight, but I was only interested in Styledriven and Matchmaster. I loved the texture of the eyeshadows, but the four I wanted either looked terrible on me (Thru the Night) or looked like something I already have..

On my skin, the following looked exactly like shadows I already have, so I would consider them dupes. Of course if you're darker/lighter than me there may be a more obvious difference.

-Legendary Black = Hocus Pocus
-Lie Low = Tempting
-Make Your Mark = Creole Beauty

Top, L to R: One to Watch and Styledriven Bottom, L to R: Sunny Outlook and Fresh Flare Not getting Fresh Flare was never an option. I am a green eyeshadow whore. It's so pigmented and rich. I can really say that about all of the shadows in this collection. The shadows outshine to lip products, IMHO. Sunny Outlook is gorg. Like a Sun Blonde, Goldmine baby. One to Watch is such an interesting brown, to me. It's a staple color, but not boring in any way. Styledriven is one I was going to skip although it's really beautiful. I bought the two blue shadows from fall colour and I thought I should pump the breaks. Then, a MUA came over, saw it on my hand and said "You need that color. It's your color". And ladies and gentleman, a sucker was born. It jumped right on my list. It is a gorgeous, shimmery light blue so I can't even be mad. It seems more pigmented than the other light blues I have bought and never touched. The rest of the shadows are dupeable to me. All the dark blues, the greys, browns, blacks. One looked like a knockoff Hocus Pocus. If you need those colors, great but I have them already. Good quality stuff, but I think I have all the colors I need. I bought What a Blast! lip pencil. It's the only one that stood out and it's the only one I felt I needed. I have orange, coral and even red lip colors that can use a pencil like this underneath. I wanna see this with Toxic Tale. Whoops! lipglass is a beautiful color. I think HerGreyness was the one that said the formula needs perfecting. I can see what she means. It's a little stick and kinda goopy. Doesn't spread easily. I think the craptacular applicator has something to do with that. I prefer the doefoot, personally. The texture I guess is closer to a lipgalss than a cremesheen. I guess that's the price you pay to have something longwearing. I'll have to test it and see just how long it lasts. This is the only one I will own, though. Don't love the formula and the other colors don't excite. Oh and let me say Ready or Not! is awful! There's nothing coral about that thing. It would make me look like a crackhead that drank all the milk in a supermarket. I was all ready to buy it from the description, but it will not work for me. Thank goodness I got to see it in person. The lipsticks were not interesting at all. Hate the shape of them and the colors were meh. Whoops! lipglass and What a Blast! lip pencil

Dark as Night is HOT! I really don't mind the stickiness because the color stays on forever. When the gloss warms up its awesome.

I say build these glosses. A little at a time to acheive the perfect result.

Whoops is pretty, and reminded me of Hibiscus, but a little less orange. I convinced someone to get it that loved Hibicus, but missed out.

Sunny Outlook is so much better than Sun Blonde cause there is no duochrome green in it. Its a warm yellow and its gorg.

Fresh Flare, one of the best MAC greens ever! that. is. all.

I agree, on the whole there is nothing was too special about the collection. Many of the colors have been done already. The colors are different from what Peacocky had to offer and less shimmery, so that was good. One to Watch is like Texture redux, which is always popular in my book; and Hot Paprika is a awesome coral orange that could double as a blush. Both a winners and standout.

I saw everything but hauled nothing fom this collection since its perm and there is plenty of time... i hope.

When I go back, I am getting, One to Watch, Sunny Outlook, Fresh Flare, Hot Paprika, and Dark as Night.

These are in store in Australia now, i saw them when i went in there last night to pick up some Fix+ but i didnt have time to stop and have a swatch. The colours still are not jumping out at me but i wanted to see them for myself before i pass final judgement on this collection. I plan to go back and have a look soon

I always feel rude just swatching these in store and the counter girls were overly forth coming to ask if i needed assistance.

I went to the party and I really liked the lip pencils from this collection. They're so creamy that they're not the easiest for a sharply defined lip so I wasn't wowed by the initial application but they feel nice on the lips. What really impressed me was the staying power. I'd swatched several on my hand before selecting Staunchly Stylish to fill in my lips and when I got around to cleaning my hand with a wipe, I found these pencils set tough! They were at least as stubborn as the chromagraphic pencils I'd swatched beside them. I decided to have a second drink in order to better test the product on my lips:) It passed the drink test and made it home looking great. I only tried it by itself though rather than with a lipstick. I think these last so well that you might get ugly outline unless you fill in the whole lip. Anyway, I bought one so I'll do some more testing on that. I thought the colour range looked nice. These pencils are $21.50 CAD so they really should be good. That's getting very close to the prices of luxury brands.

I thought the colour range on the eye shadows was kind of strange. None of the colours looked special to me but also none of them looked like a can't-miss basic. I wasn't tempted at all.
