    Alcohol would do that.

Talc is also pretty high up in the ingredients, and that could emphasize dryness.

I wore it for the first time yesterday. It doesn't cover all that well so I needed to apply more than I usually do. However, the result was great. My skin looked soft and with discolorations slightly blurred instead of masked. I am also happy that Chanel finally have made a foundation that's (almost) light enough for my pale face. The pump is good too - it gives only a little product at the time and is easy to control.

They recommend using it with fingertips, but I had the best result with a fondation brush (Bobbi Brown, full coverage).

Thank you for your comments. I'm excited to try. I have to get my hands on a sample.

I saw how it looks close up and it did not look good. This is for someone who has normal/dry skin. But at the same time someone else who is combo /oily is loving it

Luckily I tried a sample of this. Sounded good, but the "velvet matte" finish is SO drying and LOOKS drying.

I have worn it four to five days a week the last three weeks, and I'm increasingly happy with it. As I wrote three weeks go, it doesn't mask imperfections, they are blurred. The foundation gives a soft, natural loking glow to the face, but it's bound to disappoint anybody WHO (crazy machine - apparent set to recognize certain words) prefers a very shiny face.

For what it's worth - my skin is normal, perhaps slightly on the dry side, thin and with very fine pores which makes most foundations look too heavy and muddy on me. I might add that I am bit of a foundation wizard; my skin is so pale that when I'm lucky enough to find a color that suits me, I buy the foundation, and you can be sure, I'll make it work!

I'm looking forward to trying this, but it's so weird that it's listed as limited edition. I'm still upset that they discontinued my shade in perfection lumiere. Why is Chanel doing this to me?

I have heard they are adding more colors to the perfection lumiere line. I think it is for the best. When Chanel does something a second time, it is 200% better than before. The nail polishes have been redone and are excellent as well as the rouge coco lipsticks too. Don't worry they will add more colors. My color was beige amber 34 and I love it however it can be a bit orange sometimes. They are adding more colors which is great so we can pick out our color better. Meanwhile, Estee Lauder Double Wear has a ton of colors to choose from. Even though I feel the quality is not up there with Chanel, it is an alternative. Good luck!

I hope they'll add lighter colors too. It's a great Foundation, but I have to mix it with white most of the year.

So I finally tried the les beiges foundation and it's not a keeper. It is kinda dry, but not so dry that it catches on any area of my face. The problem is it just sits there. It doesn't bring any life to my face and the undertone is weird. It seems kinda pink? Eh, it's just not a great formula for normal/dry skin that's as deep as mine. I need the perfection lumiere back. Maybe I can still find my discontinued shade at a counter? I'll try when I take this one back to Nordstroms tomorrow.

I have worn this every day since I bought it, and I still love it. It even works on top of heavy sunscreen. So today I went to the Chanel counter in order to find a color that'd suit my skin in the summer. My face never tans, but I am too lazy to keep my neck covered all the time so I need a darker foundation for summer. I tried #30 and #40, but they didn't work out. Far too much yellow and red color. I'm rather sorry about this because I cannot remember when I last had a foundation, I liked so much.

Hi I really like this foundation. There isn't a color for me but if I mix the 21 and 91 in equal parts its a perfect match. In fact it beats my shade in the perfection lumber because it is a little lighter. The perfection is a little too orange. Then I add lightly the 30 powder in les beiges and it last all day. I don't have to blot my face like with the perfection lumiere. I have also heard they are discontinuing the perfection lumiere all together and releasing something else in its place. Les Beiges is an excellent foundation.

Try mixing some colors. I mix the 21 and 91 together in equal parts.

I tried the #10 for Pink Caspers. Not as good as the Guerlain 01 shade, at least for me.

I stopped at a counter a few weeks ago to get a sample and I ended up purchasing a bottle. In the store it looked like a great match. But, in outdoor light it looked very different. So annoying. I wore it once or twice since, not super-in-love. I wore it to work yesterday and I guess in that light it looked good because, for the first time ever, two ladies complemented my skin. Talk about a confidence booster.

So anyone else thinking about it give it a chance...I suggest a sample and in florescent light it should look good!
