Yes, that's definitely what I'm going to try to do! I think that $70 (although I bet it's closer to $100 for me) IS worth it for nice skin, but as I'm a poor student I need to make sure that it really does work for me first!

their glossimers are the best formulation of lip glosses that i have used. not too sticky and still look amazing. my fav is galacta...just cuz my lips are huge and i don't like to put too much color on them.lol.

i also own a quad- smoky eyes. i like it but it is very sparkly.

Who else has Chanel quads? Les 4 ombres?

Are they worth getting them?

I own several, and I can honestly say that I don't like them at all. I never use them! The eyeshadows are pretty chalky and have very little color payoff... not to mention most are infused with too much glitter.

I'd try the e/s singles instead if I were you. There's a decent color selection, and the texture is much smoother and easier to work with.

The quads are not worth the price, not by a long shot.

I only have one quad- it's called Mystic Eyes, and it's really gorgeous. It's a palette of neutrals (light pink, bronze, taupe-grey and warm dark brown - all with a beautiful shimmer or sparkle) but it's so versatile. It was only released in spring this year so it shouldn't be hard to find, if you're interested.

I also LOVE the Brun Express eyeshadow duo, which looks like the most boring duo in the pan, but is my hands down favourite for a workday/effortless neutral.

I have several of the quads. Some are good and some are not so wonderful - poor colour payoff and chalky. Mystic Eyes, like anita22, is beautiful for a neutral and smokey look. I love the silvery taupe colour. The current fall quad, Murano, is a gorgeous green grey quad. It has good texture and colour payoff. Susanne, I heard that Sparkling Satins is beautiful. I don't have it but it looks yummy.

I love their nailpolishes and their glossimer lip glosses. I also like their tweed effect products but can't bring myself to use them because they look so pretty in the pan!

^^ I've used a sample of this base before. It gives a brightening and glowy effect, as the name "illuminating" suggests. The liquid is shimmery white but not overly shiny when applied. Gorgeous base.

I have a problem with the glossimers. When a tube has about less than half of the gloss left, it starts to leak. Initially I stand the tube upside down so that I don't have to insert the whole applicator deep into the tube to scrap the gloss out but the gloss spills out from the sides although I twisted the cap tightly shut. Now I leave the tube upright and insert my applicator a few times for sufficient gloss per application. I close the cap and leave it upright but when I get home in the evening, gloss is spilling out again. I brought the half filled glosses out before and they leaked all over my makeup bag. I now have three leaky tubes. The rest I have are still relatively full and they don't leak.

Anyone with the same problem?

Chanel is one of my all time favorite!

I think the lipsticks, glosses and mascaras are wonderful as well as the skincare products. Also I have the bronzer that was released this summer and it's amazing on a pale skin like mine - not orange at all!

The eyeshadow quads are beautiful but I have to agree that they do lack pigmentation. It's not terribly bad, but considering it's Chanel and expensive, I would expect a little more. I have a few quads and I do like them, but I usually go with something more pigmented. The texture otherwise is nice, they blend well. The liquid shadows are good and they don't crease!

One of my HG products is the Chanel waterproof eyeliner pencil (the one you don't have to sharpen). I use it on my waterline and it's the only liner I've used that really stays there. And the black one it's very black.

The lipsticks are propably the best lipsticks I have. I just wish they'd come in more colours. The staying power in them is crazy good!

Oh, and the nailpolishes are recommended too, the application is like a dream.

Now I only wish I could find a Chanel foundation light enough for my skin! I don't know if they make paler shades, but atleast all the colours sold in Finland seem to be too dark for me.

My HG Chanel product is the Chanel Crystalline powder. i love the way it gently illuminates my face. it also gives a nice mat effect. i definitely reccomend it.

also, teint innocence fluid foundation is excellent, and i loved irrelle blushes, so i was really sad when they got discontinued.

I love Chanel and I spent a fortune on a whole skincare line and I used it for about 5 weeks to give it a chance but it just made me break out:-( I was so sad over that but....you win some, you lose some,LOL

OK so I have really been loving Chanel lately... I picked up this gorgeous palette recently called "Romantic Destination" (click for link) on the way to Paris, it's really a lovely palette for travelling in autumn! (You can click on the picture to zoom in).

I also got a Rouge Allure lipstick and I love the texture, I just wish they had more colours that weren't frosty. Hopefully the Xmas collection will bring more

I'm so sad that I can't get my hands on Jade, the LE green nail lacquer. It was launched yesterday, and both Jade and Jade Rose are sold out when I reached the counter today.

Seems all my favorite Chanel items are discontinued... they are the Chanel Blanc base and powder. I use and love the Narcisse Blush as well as the Tea Rose. Lots of lippies including the old Vamp (which is now new again!)
I would not buy Jade not matter what -- the going prices on Evil bay are like $ 70... lol. You have to be kidding, you are not buying gold sheesh.

I own every single quad launched since 2002, including those Lumieres Facettes quads they launch every summer. I LOVE them, I rarely use anything else, even when I own lots e/s from other brands such as Mac, Lancome, Dior, NYX. It's true the shades are subtle, which I think can be misunderstood as lack pigmentation, but buildable. You won't get strong and bright colors like yellow, bright green, fushia or red, since it's not their target market. IMO they are not at all chalky and a little product goes a long way. They can be worn wet which doesn't make them chalky but silky and with greater pay off and longer lasting. Often I use them with TFSI and any Chanel Ombre D'eau, which makes the whole thing with a VP finish. Might seem like little product for the price, but I have never hit pan with any color in any quad. They are amazingly blendable too.

I know many will disagree with my opinions, but I have to say that Chanel US products are manufactured by a different plant than the rest of the world Chanel products. US even has product lines and shades not available in rest of the world. I hve never tried anything manufactured for US. Being in Berlin, you'll get the products manufactured for France which are the ones I own.

You still can get Le Blanc de Chanel but in a liquid formulation. IMO is better than the creamy one because of my oily skin. Also, the application is easier and better.
