MAC, you idiot! You send me text msgs for every collection release, even ones that are just old products grouped for a season or a reason. But, nope, no msg for this collection. I didn't know about it until i was randomly on the MAC website and saw the collection. Yessss, i thought, glitter! That's me! And every color i liked was sold out.

At first i thought these might be the frosted mattes that Her Greyness told us about. But after seeing how sheer and glossy they are, i guess not.

I've found them elsewhere - about to place an order - but a little gloomy that it won't count toward my "status". I was Obsessed, but now, who knows?

Temptalia's swatches are terrible. I know that often she gives a lipstick a really low rating, says it's patchy, etc. I buy it anyway, cuz i love the color and i have no problems at all with it.

I got Urban Decay Vice Special Effects Lip Topcoat in Monarchy, a nice rich violet with blue and purple glitter. She was right, the applicator sucked, but i got a decent coating on my lips anyway, while hers was very patchy and uneven. So i expect however these metallics look, and the base looks a bit sheer, they'll work better on me than they did on her.

My package arrived today with the red mascara from the Work It Out collection — sold out on MAC — and 3 metallic lipsticks — also sold out on MAC

They are GORGEOUS! Unlike Christine of Temptalia, i have no trouble applying them. They go on smoothly and evenly. I got Nightly Ritual, Royal Hour, and Cold Front.

Nightly Ritual looks more black than navy and has lovely sparkles in it, but i have several sheer black or dark grey lipsticks as well as Kat von D Poe (which is beautiful), so i could have skipped it.

Royal Hour is amazing, a lovely deep violet with fabulous iridescence from the multicolor pearls in it. I  it.

Cold Front is, as someone here said, reminiscent of UD Asphyxia, but sheerer and full of glitter (check my sig for my feelings about glitter). My lips are a cool pink color, so it looks lavender blue and the multicolor sparkles are quite unlike Asphyxia.

It's pretty clear from the sheer, moist finish these will need to be reapplied. But i'm from the oooooold days when all lipsticks needed reapplication with some frequency, so that doesn't bother me. As for the glitter bomb effect that elegant-one experienced, well, i'll find out in a little while, since i'm currently wearing Cold Front.

I like these so much i may go back for more. Still sorry they don't count toward my MAC Select status. Still peeved at MAC for not notifying me about this collection, but notifying me about other ones composed of repromotes i don't want.

ETA: These could be used as toppers for other lipsticks to alter their color.
