MAC - Peacocky discussion

Pathetic admission time: I got my black box a few days ago but I'm still in the "admiring it and not touching it" stage.

I swung by the MAC store and swatched everything there so I know I like what I picked out already (along with many other things, ahem!) but I didn't want to get my new goodies "dirty" yet, lol. After this weekend is over I'll be playing around with everything and testing them on the eyes and lips. I'm haunted by a few of the shadows I didn't get, and I'm sure I'll be placing at least one more order soon.

On another note, I can't wait to try layering some of these eyeshadows. I want to try applying unflappable, blending that out a bit, and topping it with a light layer of Prance...I think that could be gorgeous. Same thing for SoY or Centre Stage with a little Tweet Me on top, or Ego with Dalliance on top!

I can't quote tonight/this morning for some reason, so I'll try to remember what I was trying to respond about:

Shontay - I love your new avatar. You look really gorgeous, and the lip color is delicious on you!
Shadowy - I'm so glad your surgery went well! Love Peck is perfection on you.
Her Greyness - Have a great trip and enjoy the day of shopping!

Well I came home from my MAC store yesterday with Prance, Unflappable, and Center Stage. I also grabbed Super klc.... I didn't bother swatching anything else because I told myself I didn't need anything else..... well now I'm kicking myself. I feel as though I NEED Love Peck... and I might just order it anyway. I have a bunch of stuff on the way from Mickey C as well :S.... oh my. I have some playing to do today :D

Well, guys, played around at MAC again yesterday this time with a warm palette. I took a bunch of unconventional photos for you all so you can see
how these shadows look with various colors of hair. I have to get around to formatting them to post.

Anyway, Spectacle of yourself can be mixed with Papparazz-she, Sexpectations, and Center Stage if you are desperate, but the mix does lack
that little extra splash of intense red fire.

So, guess who came home with Spectacle of Yourself.....

These shadows do need to have some good base work under them to make them stay on my lids, and our counter was so dark that I could not
see hardly at all and my application ended up muddy- but all in all, these are gorgeous shadows.

The color that is one of the biggest standouts to me that no one talks about is Top of the Posh. That is one amazing color. Every time I put it on
people all stare with their mouths open and say WOW!

Another tip for you darker skinned people- Papparazz-she makes a great blush if you put it on VERY lightly and blend well. Some people with
warmer skintones make it turn red-orange and it looks great as a blush if you work it right and don't use too much.

Will try to post photos for you all soon!

Papparazz-she does look like a close cousin to NARS' Taj Majal blush.

Flaunting It doesn't look purple on my pigmented lips if that's what you're worried about. It's beautiful on, just looks plummy.

I ended picking up a few more things on friday, added Dalliance e/s and Super and Vanity Fair glosses, so I was up to 5 shadows and 3 glosses, and then... I also placed an order last night for Woo Me and Yash l/s! (Elegant, your enabling is responsible for Woo Me!). I think I'll stop now, these should keep me busy for a while as far as MAC's concerned.

When I did go to the counter on thursday, i had a quick chat with the MA there. He was saying that MAC has been cutting back with staffing and also with the products the staff are entitled to from each collection. He was upset because they are no longer able to provide the level of service that MAC customers are used to receiving. Sign of the times I guess.

This looks incredible with your eyes. And you have beautiful eyes.
Indianwood is my very favorite paint pot. I love to use it on the lower lashline also. During summer, I practically live in this.
If they ever discontinue, I will hold a memorial for it, and buy every one I can get my hands on.

I am so thrilled with Paparazz-she, and so glad I got it. It wasn't on my original want list. It is so much more wearable and flattering than I thought. It is so flattering on the lid, and over other browns. And next to a blue like Dalliance.
Thanks for posting. I am so going to try Indianwood under my shadow today!!

Shoot, I meant to ask you, how you like Peek at You. Does it wear pretty well on the lid? Was it a lot of work to get it to show?

I know you didn't ask me, but for whatever its worth, I played with every color in the collection for two days and wore a few combinations all day long to test them out.

The three that barely showed up on me and did not do too much were Tweet Me, Peek At You, and Mating Call. I tried to make them work, but the combination of our dark counter area with no light at all hardly, and the shadows, they were really tough. I tried Peek At You several times and it just did not show up much and did not do much of anything from what I could see- even the MA at MAC said that it was blah on me and she didn't like it on herself either.

I am NW 25 and she was a similar coloring as me. My DD used it and it was kinda boring on her too and she is
NC15

Just my two cents.

Grrr. I had typed a reply to you and it got lost in the interwebz... Just looove when that happens..

Anywho,...Thanks. I kind of wanted to hear that, since Peek at You and Mating Call are the two shadows I didn't get either at the counter or online. I feel somewhat better and rational knowing that I didn't get all the shadows.

Tweet Me is an odd duck. Some it doesn't show on, and others it's great. I love it. It layers over other colors well, and is super flattering on me. I have used it over regular base and coral crepe paint pot.
If I had Let it Pop, I bet it would be super as well.

And Lou, this is turning to be my fave collection since VV. As I use what I got, I'm loving it even more. I had planned on getting 5 shadows and no lippies. That didn't happen. I am not getting anything from the next several collections though. (that's what she said, lol. but I really mean it this time)

Well in that case - I really hope that you love it on. Its sexy nude - need I say anything else. I am going to get a backup of this one too. Super looked awesome in the store. I didn't get it so let me know what you think of the color on.

I bought Peacocky but haven`t had a chance to use it yet.

I`m surprised there aren`t more reviews on this collection on MakeupAlley. I was hoping to get more input on Peacocky before I bought it; the Kissable lipcolors have only 5 reviews for any and all of the colors and none of the reviews are for Peacocky.

Another look: Spectacel fo yourself, Papparrazz-she, and Tweet me, with Peek at You as highlight and dipdown liner. Blush id Love Joy with Ghana used as highlighter.

another close-up. I agree with many of you that Peek At You ins't the most impressive shade of the group... Nylon would work as well/better with more frost.

I don't tend to write reviews over at MUA because I have another place which allows you to review anything but they let you write in depth and put up to 12 photos per review if you like, so I like that kind of freedom so I write there.

Here is the link and you can link to the others I have done so far from this one. I eventually will put them all up there.
This is not a blog and it is not my site and I don't get $ for people reading the review....just to be sure it is clear. I also have Peacocky over there too (lipcolour)

I just put Spectacle of Yourself up today and have not had a chance to pry the computer away from my hubby to get the photos of my makeover I did with it up yet- hope to have it up tonight
