MAC Quite Cute Discussion

Tried CYY again, and it looks more like it does on tismama on me as well. Just super hot neon pink. It's a bit too flashy for me. I was hoping it would look more fuchsia on me, but it doesn't. It's almost unwearable for me, sadly. Something New just works so much better for me.

However I am so in love with Sakura. It's so pretty! Soft and glowy. ^_^ I haven't had any trouble with patchiness, but I always moisturize first then use powdered mineral foundation first.

Glad to say I made it through this collection with one casualty (Candy Yum Yum). Of course, I had to stock up on a couple perm goodies to qualify for free shipping, but that's besides the point.

When I originally saw the colour story for Quite Cute, I was ALL over it! When swatches started showing up, however, nothing really piqued my interest. I just had to get CYY though, as it looked so pretty, and being matte, I was confident it would show up true to colour on my pigmented lips. I have to say, for a matte, it isn't terribly drying. Smooth and moisturized lips are a must, but I follow that protocol with most lipsticks, regardless of texture. It's quite long wearing, but definitely accentuated lip lines the longer I wore it. All in all, despite the usual quirks that come with mattes, I love it!

Here is a pic of CYY on bare (but pigmented!) lips. For reference, I'm NW15/20 or NC15/20, depending on who you ask.

My Candy Yum Yum evidently got ordered via MAC corporate. I have no idea how that happened, since I ordered via the phone # on the Mac web site. I assume that there was a somewhat massive meltdown with their web site or directory system. The good news is that it should arrive sometime today via FedEx. So anyone who ordered by phone on Apr. 5 might have the same situation. I'd call Mac if in doubt.

I also can do comparison swatches against my other neon pink lipsticks this weekend, if anyone wants them. I have Chanel's Coco Pink and YSL's Tropical Pink, which are both bright blue-based pink lipsticks. The YSL lipstick is still available for purchase too.

the quite cute lippy has been getting alot of heat, but i really love it. it's a very true lavender color and the pigmentation is pretty good. exactly what i wanted courting lilac to be..i took that one straight back to the store because it didn't show up on me.
Frenchy CYY looks great on you!

Tismama how do you like the quite cute l/s?

I tried CYY today and I love how it brightens up my whole face! It's super flattering shade I think. It's a nice thing there's the B2M system, it gave me again two gorgeous lippies!

Doesn't MAC sometimes ship out items without sending an e-mail informing you of the shipment?
I think that happened to me w/ Venomous Villains. I got my items before the shipping info got updated on the site or by e-mail...

although i preordered sakura i decided not to get it and gave it up to my paler friend. my mac store is the worse ever, today all the lipsticks were sold out and the blushes too. they lonly got like three of each item. yeah i also wish it was more unique, cause it does put more pinky on me too,but on my paler friend it did pull more lavender/lilac.

i wish they would have made the heart on sakura more purple or another shade of lavender

I forgot to post what I got yesterday! I ended up buying Candy Yum Yum and Giggly mineralize blush. There was only 3 CYY left so I panicked and bought it.

LOL! I wanted to get all three nail lacquers as well but all three kind of looks dupable.

MAC always seems to be on target (in my opinion) with sending an email confirmation and then another when the items are shipped out. Of course, with VV and Fabulous Felines, I received my stuff before I ever got a shipping email. Actually, I never got one when I think about it. Maybe they are overwhelmed & understaffed or something.

LOOOOL! I placed one too for the very same reason. I should've remembered that CS is often mistaken or misinformed, like some of the MUAs in the stores. I thought they would give a few pins that are mini and not one large pin. Let me know how you like them. The panda looking one is cute!
