Thought I'd share this link with you, ladies, for 3 London Harrods RA Exclusives and some Chanel porn in general :)

http://www.britishbeautyblogger.com/2011/09/chanels-world-at-harrods.html

I want all 3!
I just died at the "Shocking Pink" collection. Why, oh why don't they release that everywhere??

Do any of our Chanel ladies live near London to see the Chanel display at Harrod's?

I would love to get my hands on one of the Limited release Rouge Allures and that pink powder!

I have never purchased any Guerlain, but not that they have the four colour palettes that are similarly priced to Chanel's -- I might have to delve into that line! But I need to stay on topic here!! I'm trying to bide my time until the Velvets launch :)

I know, right???!

I am not in London before the end of the month, and Chanel world won't be around anymore by then. I am seriously considering giving them a call and having it delivered to my sister's address. But my sister will kill me, if she sees the invoice, lol. She seriously doesn't support my makeup addiction.

^^I checked Harrod's online, but they only have the powder. I want a lipstick and a gloss, too! I don't even know if they would ship to the US anyways -- and it would probably be a small fortune!
I love those white double C's on the pink powder -- I'm totally obsessed . . . .

I think you should totally buy it and have it sent to your sister's address :) LOL

I played with the velvets lipsticks a bit these past weeks whne I visited some stores.

I think they are a no-go for me. Way toooo pigmented for my style, I prefer way subtrle looks, If you like bold pigmented lips they will be your thing.

I will give them another chance once they hit US stores. I only swatched them on my hand as the SA denied to clean and sanitize the testers to use on lips. Maybe I will find one to suit my skintone. They also didnt have full line up of the shades.

Also I liked to the new dusty pink nail polish.
Yey, then I definitely want them. Nothing like nice pigmented lipsticks, and in matte texture even better :)

Oh I agree! I love bold, pigmented lips and I'm dying to see how the matte finish on these looks!

I got one of the Velvets last week. I previously had gotten a sample card, and when it got colder and more fall-like last week, I decided to try them. I tested La Raffinee first. I've pretty pigmented lips, and instead of this rosewood colour it looks like, it's a berry pink on me. Pretty, but also a pretty ordinary colour. I applied it in the morning before going to work, and it held up pretty well. The feeling on the lips is nice - similar to the MAC Prolongwear lipcremes, but not as drying. They dry down to a semi-matte finish. I had breakfast, a latte and some juice, and they started to fade after eating and drinking. Today I wore one of the Velvets again, and if you only drink, it holds up for about four to five hours.
Well, after testing the sample, I went to the counter and looked for my perfect red. I absolutely love the promo pic, but the red used for it is a bit too blue-based for me. So I got no. 39, 'La Sompueuse', which means something like 'the magnificent one'. That is a brownish red, and it's a dream. I really think I found my perfect Red! After wearing the Velvets for a time, I want to aplly some balm or gloss, but my lips are far from being chapped or super dry. I've never had a Mattene, but they have to be extraordinary to be better than the Velvets. Chanel really raised the mark for matte l/s with these, I think! Added bonus: because of their drier texture, they don't bleed into the fine lines around my lips. Yay!
If anyone is interested in swatches, just give me a shout - I can easily go to the counter next week again and swatch all eight colours. When I'm back at home on Monday I'll post a swatch of no. 39 as well - right now I don't have my camera with me.

Sorry for the whole novel! Short version - I really like the Velvets.

Anneri -- thanks so much for your descriptions! If you get time, I would love pics of all 8 colors. I have to do all of my Chanel cosmetic shopping online, so I love seeing swatches!

Nora - So exciting that you can see the velvets soon!

Anneri - Thanks for your review! Good to hear that they are not drying. I have semi-pigmented lips so I'll see if La Raffinee turns berry too. I hope I can get a test card to try the colours out first. Congrats on finding your prefect red! I wore Rouge Byzatin today.

Anneri, thanks for your review! I'm more excited now, because while I really love the mattenes, I'm not crazy about the colours they just came out with! (Plus nothing beats the classy Chanel packaging!). I'm pretty sure the bright pink RA velvet will be mine!

Hey everyone! I went by the counter today to have a look at the velvets. For those of you that like more dramatic colours, this little collection of lipsticks may be for you. For me, there wasn't much that I would personally wear.

I swatched La Raffinee, La Distinguee, La Ravissante and L'Exuberante. Of those four, I decided to try on La Raffinee and La Distinguee. La Raffinee was a pretty colour, a deep mauve-ish pink, which is kinda what I've been looking for. Unfortunately, it applied really dark on me, and definitely not a colour I'm comfortable with. La Distinguee is the most neutral shade, which appeared quite peachy on my hand, but aaplied was a rather muted slightly peachy pink neutral colour. I ended up getting that and the SA gave me the blister pack, because he thought I'd change my mind about La Raffinee! The blister pack also has L'Exuberante, which I found to be quite shocking of a pink, but maybe will be wearable once on.

Texture wise, I think these are very comparable to the mattenes.

All in all, they seem like a decent lipstick, nice coverage, but not heavy or too thick. The darker shades could definitely be sheered out to be more like a stain, which is how I'm going to try the pink shade. I also think these definitely need a good balm underneath for those of you who, like me, have dry lips!

Oh, and I also got a regular RA in 66, Confidentielle, a colour that made me think of Michelle! Wow, now that is a pretty colour! I was wondering why I hadn't picked it out till now!

Nora, thanks for the review. I am interested in trying La Raffinee. I don't have pigmented lips, so I may have the same experience of the lipsticks applying dark. I think I will try the lip balm trick. So glad you love Confidentielle! It is such a gorgeous and wearable shade
