MAC LUSTRE SHADOWS AND GLAZE LIPSTICKS ARE BEING DISCONTINUED!

My live chat with MAC the other night

LH: Hello I just had a question one of my local MAs said that the Matte2 lustre eyeshadows and glaze lipsticks were being discontinued. I was wondering if you knew if this was true or just her ploy to get me to buy certain items
Jenny: Hi LH! I am happy to check those for you! One moment, please.
LH: thank you very much
Jenny: The formulas are not being discontinued. Certain shades in each of those have been discontinued, but many remain. In the Matte2 shadows, we still have Blanc Type, Handwritten, Brown Script, Copperplate, Typographic and Fig 1.
Jenny: There are also still several colours in the Glaze Lipsticks.
Jenny: Click here for the MAC Lipstick page.
Jenny: You should be able to shop by finish with the tabs at the bottom of the page, by the swatches.
Jenny: Does this help, LH?
LH: so is it safe to assume that if its online those are not going to be discontinued?
LH: as of now of course
Jenny: Correct. You can always check what is being discontinued by the section entitled "Good Byes".

On the upside, if you HAVE to hoard them they stay fresh forever. I've got lipcolors from 2001 that still smell like vanilla.

I'm still sort of humming "Ding dong Filament is dead!" softly in my head, though. Peace out, crumbly eye shadow!

I actually like Filament, but maybe they have figured out a way to make the lustre type e/s without the fall out and rename the finish?

I will need to grab a Pervette if they discontinue, I have wanted that forever but I delay because, its perm you know? I guess I should also back up Hue...

i think some lustres are better than others, i've only heard good things about Tempting and Retrospeck

I really like my lustre shadows: amber lights, aquadisiac, swimming .... but I have lots of pigment in the pots so no worries .... I do highly recommend amber lights as one to grab before it's gone.

I feel like the only person who really dislikes hue!

I might have to try aquadisiac before it d/c though, ive never attempted colours aside from neutrals on my eyes though, so it probablly will be a complete disaster!

oh you need to jump into colours then! mac have so many awesome coloured shadows and aquadisiac is one of them :)

I actually REALLY dislike Hue. I went to a counter a few weeks ago trying to find *the* nude lipstick. I tried on Hue and my lips looked like a cracked, shiny, pinky mess. Not cute.

anytime i have read a review on the glaze lipsticks they havent been too good so im not surprised about that.

is there a list of the luster eyeshadows. i want to get some before they run out. will they be repalced by a different kind of shadow

I also need to try color on my eyes. Normally I stick to neutrals because I am not that great at applying makeup. Does anyone know if the counters have a teaching session to learn to apply makeup better?

Before I read a couple of posts down I almost choked on my coffee! haha

I NEED HUE in my life, either way I'm stocking up, no telling what kinda shananigans MAC may pull one day!!! lol

No kidding! I mean look at the 222 brush! I had NO idea that was going away... then one day... GONE!! It's still available other places (allcosmeticswholesale.com & Nordstrom's Site) so I was able to grab a BU, but NO heads up or notice on the MAC site (not even in the Goodbyes section) or in MAC stores. I went to pick one up, the MUA went to get it and came back very confused saying she "guessed" it was discontinued. I hate not getting any notice when somethings going away. It's bad enough it's gone. Worse that I don't have a chance to back it up. Boo.
