It's settled, I'm getting How Beautiful!Hey peeps! I'm home sorting through my haul. I've got some pics up on my Tumblr feed including swatches of How Beautiful, Snowglobe and Shimmermint. I've got 2 brush sets (Mineralize, Essential) as well.
WIll post some swatches a little later on this evening. But in the meantime, here are two 'swatch' photos to hold you over.![]()

Sorry Soft Sable didn't do it for you. 'Just that tiniest bit of grey too much, huh? Seems like there will be lots of other similar shades going forward to make you look 90's fabulous, rather than deceased.I so wanted to love Soft Sable, because it's such a stunning colour swatched on my hand, but on my lips, it seemed to pull a grey tone in my skin and made me look corpse-y. Super disappointed, but this is often the case with me and taupe lipsticks- there's a sliver of distance between a taupe that looks really nice on me and one that makes me look like an extra from the morgue scenes in CSI.
Yes, I'm almost tempted to go to a store with more natural lighting and check again just to make sure, but I really don't think it'll work. I have the same problem with Fluid l/s. It's a lovely colour, but something in it makes me look grey.Sorry Soft Sable didn't do it for you. 'Just that tiniest bit of grey too much, huh? 'Hope your kitty is doing better now!
First time posting here but I have been reading most threads for over a year now. I just wanted to add something that I haven't seen in this thread. If anyone has Love Connection from (Electro Flash, I believe), Snow Season is basically the same. So if you love it and want a backup, I would suggest getting Snow Season. If you have Love Connection and never use it, I wouldn't suggest getting Snow Season.
It seemed like it was going to work, since Pet Me, Please and Call My Bluff play nice for you.Yes, I'm almost tempted to go to a store with more natural lighting and check again just to make sure, but I really don't think it'll work. The little guy is doing better, although still not 100%. He has medicine, it just takes a while to get him back to his usual self. Right now, he's sort of taking some "me" time, although none of the others are leaving him entirely alone. He's sort of the one who absolutely everyone loves.
I told you!I had a sick kitty today, but I did make it out to see the new collection in the late afternoon, once I was comfortable that my little boy was feeling better. I'm sort of divided on the collection and was surprised at what I liked and didn't like. I didn't pick anything up, but I may decide to go back and look again, when I have a bit more time.
Things that I liked:
Hold That Pose- Really pretty and more pigmented than I was expecting.
Double Spin- It was kind of patchy and applied unevenly, but it's a kind of nice, subtle icy lavender-pink. Reminded me of Tease Me (although whiter and creamier), if anyone remembers that one.
Whirls & Twirls- I might go back for this one, as I don't really have anything like it. It struck me as the warm pink version of Bubblegum from Spring Colour Forecast
Snow Globe- OK, I wasn't surprised at liking this, but I was surprised at how much I liked it. It's a really stunning highlighter and it's the thing I'm most likely to go back for. I smoothed a little on my cheeks just using my fingers and I could immediately see the improvement. Despite the fact that so many highlighters are close to one another in colour, I have to say I've never seen one quite like this before.

These are my (very crappy and somewhat blurry) cell phone pics of my haul (taken at work/terrible lighting)...I will have better pics later.
Was surprised at how much veining my Snow Season MES has...should be even more gorgeous than I expectedWhat Joy l/s is not as dark as it looks here, I swear lol. I almost wasn't going to post these at all since the pics are so bad, but couldn't resist sharing my haul asap lol

The Glitter & Ice 226 brush looks more tapered than the other 2 MAC 226 brushes. Are those 2 from the MAC Me Over collection? Also, do any of the short handle brushes from the Glitter & Ice collection feel scratchy or shed like crazy?Posting this really quick as Big Bang Theory is coming on. :::geeky screech:::
I bought two (2) of the brush sets. I got the Mineralize and the Essential. After using MAC's regular brushes for a few months, I can't say from initial touch that the SE ones feel significantly different.

HB will not be as pigmented or shimmery I believe. Thats just off the top of my head. Its not even close to being a bronzer, just sheer very soft puff of warmth.I told you!
BTW, HAS anyone who has seen How Beautiful BP that can compare it to By Candlelight and other lighter, bronzier MSF's??? I know it is my third time asking, but I am trying to rule it in or out B4 it sells out...
Yep, my 226 are from the MAC Me Over collection. So far none of the short handle brushes feel scratchy and I haven't noticed any shedding (I pulled at the brushes and nothing came out). The Glitter & Ice 226 brush looks more tapered than the other 2 MAC 226 brushes. I got the special edition white brush set and the duo-fibre set and none of them feel any different from the full-size brushes. I've used Mac brushes exclusively for years now. No shedding either. I am really pleased because the tartan tale sets were scratchy and fall-out central! But these seem great! I'm thinking of picking up the essentials set tomorrow to get my hands on that mini 226... I can always give the other brushes away with the bag as a gift since I already have two or three versions of them. LolThe Glitter & Ice 226 brush looks more tapered than the other 2 MAC 226 brushes.
