Double Spin looks great on you liba!![]()
Great photos! I love the tip about mineral mode on the cupids bow. I was just wondering do you spritz fix+ directly onto your face or buff it on with a brush afterwards? Ps: what do you think of h&n mascara- I am thinking of trying it and we seem to have similar taste.....
Sure its probably dupeable but I personally MACs beauty powders and highlighters. How Beautiful is good to add warmth to your entire face and Snowglobe for be would be used to brighten the face. The key with using those powders is a brush that will pick up enough powder to distribute it evenly. Not sure exactly which brushes to use though.
I just remembered fan brushes should work lol.
fan brush is a must have if you have pale skin. i can't live without it.
I use either the fan brush or the little 'skunk' brush. The fan I use to do the bridge of my nose (I like being precise) and the skunk I use to highlight cheeks and the middle of my forehead.Sure its probably dupeable but I personally MACs beauty powders and highlighters. When the Stylishly Yours collection came out and my favorite MAC MUA was applying the Virgin Isle CCB on my cheek, a very fair skinned lady came over and said while she liked the color she was scared it would look too bright on her. She watched as the MUA used the fan brush to take the color from super bright to a sheer wash of color. The lady bought a fan brush on the spot.fan brush is a must have if you have pale skin. i can't live without it.
what do you use it for?
Do you have duo fibre brushes? If so do you think it's worth having both duo fibre and fan and if so why?Everythingbronzers, dark blushes, highlighters. Smashbox has really god fan brush. I've had mine for over three years, still is like new and i use it almost every day.

Cool. Thanksi first bought fan brush and after that i got 187, 188 and 130. it is worth having both. fan brush is not expensive, i think 18$.
i love duo fiber for some blushes that are very pigmented, liquid foundations... but i somehow always end up using fan for bronzers, it just contours my face better. it is good for setting powders too, if you want just lightly to dust powder on.

Wow, taking self portraits and getting the effects and colors accurate is tough! I wanted to get in on the fun, though - plus I wanted to show a little Glitter & Ice action for us middle-aged ladies - it's definitely do-able, but the MES are frosty and pale enough that it takes a little planning to look like you're not trying and failing to be youthful.

Kind of a goofy photo. I have snazzier ones, but they don't show off the eye look as well and since that's what I'm here for, please enjoy the goofy face!
Anyhow, this is Double Spin on the lips, with a tiny touch of Mineral Mode on the cupid's bow. On the face, I've got Truth & Light MCLP all over, Equilibrium for cheek contour, Lightscapade all over cheekbones and a touch of Warmth of Coral MB on the apples of the cheeks.
On the eyes, I've got Vibrancy Eye Primer (which I really love) all over the eyes and all along the under eye area. Then I applied Let's Skate on the whole eyelid and then all the way up to the brows with the large double faced eye brush from Semi-Precious (which I really, really love). Fresh Ice applied dry with a 217 on the inner eye/ducts up to just under the brow socket and buffed in really well - it seemed like the trick to make this look good and not overdone or wrong was to not go farther up the brow with it. Moleskin all over the rest of the lid, in the outer 2/3 of the crease and up to the brows with 217, then applied heavily under the eyes with a 219 and winged out and up past the brows for some contouring, then blended in. Mineral Mode applied dry on the upper lids just till below the crease and then some more Moleskin to touch up the crease. Tight line and liner upper water line with Dark Envy (would probably have preferred Avenue but I didn't want to fish for it) with a 210 and a healthy coat of Haute 'n Naughty. Afterwards, this is where I spritz on the Fix+ - on eyes and face. I find this makes these MES look nicer than just applying them wet to begin with - which makes them look a little crusty and prevents them from being buffed in smoothly for that sleek reflective look. If you're younger, you could probably skip that step, but for keeping the frosty texture from battling with older eye textures, this is what works best, I've found. 'Finishes it just right.
All in all, this batch of MES is pretty challenging to use for me, other than Winterized, since they're so light and cool toned and have a somewhat powdery texture, but it's a lovely and high style effect. Not something I can easily use all over the lids or on the brow bone, due to my hooded lids and sort of puffy brow bone skin, although I think I could use them under the entire length of the lower lid on a non-puffy eye bag day. My Big Bounce Shadow in Cool Elite was for sure easier to work with all over and smoothed out my eye texture to perfection without any effort. Here's hoping the new Metal X formula does the same sort of thing, since my Cool Elite isn't gonna last forever.
