MAC and Gareth Pugh Discussion

The texture is pretty soft/ fine, so I don't think it would emphasise pores. I couldn't think of how it would work on me. It seemed like it would be a little heavy/ powdery for a setting powder (I prefer the Prep & Prime for that, which, ironically, is a loose powder that looks less powdery), but it doesn't have enough of a "glow" factor to work as a highlighter on my NC15 skin.

Does the dark pigment look like Bloodline, but with more depth? Love this collection, even though it's like a washed out vampy look :)

It does look like it, which means skip for me.

Ironically, it would probably be more of a highlighter on darker skin, because it would show up more. Not sure if it would turn ashy, though.
I can't say for sure, of course, since I'm NC20, but I'm pretty sure it would look ashy. Even on my skin it has a subtle white case that I think would just be amplified on darker skin.

Just watched the video. It's amazing and I definitely came away inspired.

My list hasn't changed much but I wish we would get some swatches other than "T".

Still planning on picking up Vacant, Restrict, both Metal X shadows, the lashes and Deceit pigment. I have Strada in pro pan and I am pretty sure I will get the compact as a birthday gift from my SO. I collect nice compacts and the MAC couture ones have been my gift from him every year.

Surprisingly Outrage and Fervent dropped off my list as did all of the polishes. I figure I have a wealth of berry shade vamp lip products and now that I am spending most of my time doing direct patient care I can't wear polish to work anyway.

I am sorry to see the general loss of interest in this collection but I am still excited.

I posted a couple of pics in the swatch thread- Outrage and Strada. I'm wearing both today in a Gareth Pugh-inspired look. I do love the shades for this collection, even if I don't feel the need to buy a lot of the products.

Here's Outrage and Strada on me:

It does not emphasize pores as it is extremely fine milled.

I will try to post a more in-depth review once I have more time on my hands ...

Beautiful katred! I love that Outrage isn't too dark or opaque, makes it more unique. It reminds me of Moistly lipgelee, but with shimmer. Love it!

Absolutely LOVELY katred! I had Outrage in my MAC shopping cart but kept taking it out and then putting it back in... I guess this pretty face confirms it's a buy for me! Thanks for pushing me over the edge! Love your eyeshadow colors too... what are they?

I want pro pan of Strada blush, but I'm not a pro member. I asked my bf to go to the local MAC store and ask them to order it in for me (I had heard that was possible...correct me if I'm wrong). They told him he had to order it online...but I thought only pros could use the pro website. What's the deal here?

Thank you! Although I didn't buy much from the collection, I find the palette and colours really inspirational.

I really like how MAC takes a new look on "vamp," while at the same time, the collection allows to use each product in a very natural way if desired. Genius!

I spent far too much on GP already (with double or triple BU's of certain products), but it's worth the money, and I'm glad that I was rather selective with Glitter & Ice..

I like the movement towards a "washed-out", softer vampy look too and am really glad MAC is spearheading this trend and supporting it through multiple collections - that's actually the interesting thing about Glitter & Ice....colors like Hold That Pose, Winterized and Soft Sable are great for that look. People were really scratching their heads over that Quite Cute quad, but here we are many months later and it's starting to sink in.

Of course that means that by next holiday, the raccoon eyes will be back in style, huh?
