The skin at the top of my cheekbones and around the temples is very thin too (extra moisturizing can't help with that much), so yeah, it may just be for different skin than mine. I don't run into this issue with the EDSFs or with BPs like Elude. The outer circle parts of the Semi Precious MSFs are fine for me too.

I'm ok with it when I wear My Paradise, because I only use that in high summer anyways. If people need Crew anti-enabling, though, they can come to me any time, hee!

Also, bronzers are fine for paler people. I'm NC15 and was always chicken about them until a couple years ago. They make them so sheer and finely milled now and the ones in this collection are particularly soft and subtle. You basically lightly apply them anywhere on your face you'd normally get some color from the sun - cheeks, temples, down the sides of the face, a tiny touch on the bridge of the nose, etc. If you're really curious, go to a MAC store and ask for a demo from a MA with a very lightly tanned skin look style - he or she will understand where you're coming from for sure.
I don't know what's happening here, because I found them too sparkly and shiny on me. lol But I can wear Crew and it's not shimmery on me. I have super oily skin, color me confused.

Fix+ and the Charged Water spray don't quite do it with those more mica-y ones on me. I'm curious about these Asian moisturizing sprays - that sounds like something up my alley. What brand do you like?

I think bronzer does often look more mainstream. I don't think anyone could have twisted my arm to get me to like them when I was younger. I'm ok with it now because the past few years, my eyes decided to show their age with puffy bags and seriously nothing works as well for reversing that particular issue than just having skin that looks sunny and outdoorsy. Rather than trying to cover them up with concealer, I just use a little bronzer and suddenly nobody notices anymore. Slight of hand!
My favorite Asian moisturizing spray is relatively easy to find stateside (I see you live in LA, I don't think you will have any trouble finding this easily at a Japanese market such as Mitsuwa/Marukai/Nijiya...all of which carry the line up here in NorCal), it's by Sana in their Hadanomy range (I really like the moisturizer in their line too): http://www.sasa.com/SasaWeb/eng/product/viewProductDetail.jspa?itemno=104407801001

I can seriously gush about that spray forever haha, I love the heck out of it and use it multiple times daily. It's the only thing I have a BU of since I use it so much, and I caught it on sale. I use it before moisturizer AM/PM, before taking a shower (I wash my face first, so it's usually kind of tight/dry at that time and I am not going to waste moisturizer before the shower) and to set makeup. I also have another one at my desk at work to perk me up or moisturize a bit during the work day.

I think you will like it more than Fix+ and Charged Water because it's thicker...almost like a very light serum vs. the MAC ones which were more watery and sticky in my opinion. I think even if you don't find it helps with making the mica shimmers look more like a sheen/natural on you, you will love it to keep your face moist during the day since you have such dry skin.

As for the bronzer, I have the same problem you do (although I don't think it's an age thing for me, I am 26...my eyes are just like that) with my eyes kind of looking shaded and tired...I really can't wear even the best concealer under my eyes...it just doesn't do enough for me (even the Dior one, which I ended up returning...it was the best I'd tried but still not good enough).

You're really selling me on the bronzer here haha.

I usually don't like a tanned look either. I planned to use the bronzer only on my cheeks, but I played with it and liked how it made me look when I used it all over. Maybe try a matte one so at least you won't get the 'glowy' effect.
I think I might like one that has a little bit of sheen to it, rather than too matte...but I will try various finishes and see what ends up working for me since I have zero frame of reference when it comes to bronzers haha. Everything else, pretty much, I have done enough trial and error over the last year and a half to know what works for me...

My box was just delivered and I tried on everything To Catch a Sailor - it's a frosty nude/skin tone color on me that looks quite lovely. I think it would complement some of the more complicated/colorful eye looks and I could see myself reaching for it pretty often. Red Racer - it's a clean and classic red that I think looks quite nice and perfect for summer. It's not as bright as I hoped for on me, but it's a nice cherry/raspberry red. Riviera Life - The most opaque Lipglass I own, I was shocked at how pigmented it is. Also the formula feels different, it feels smoother, not as tacky and perhaps a bit shinier than my other glasses. The tangerine color is pretty and I feel very on trend wearing it, but I thought the gold shimmer would be more apparent than it is, but I still like it a lot. I'm NC45/NW40 that leans neutral:)

I'm also shocked at how opaque Riviera Life is. It's so pretty. Also, I looove love love the 167SH. I've been having issues with my TC Pink Tea blush not showing up. I scraped off the top layer and used the 167SH to apply it and it actually showed up on my hand. Super impressed.

My 1st order has been updated to deliver tomorrow now... yay!

Oh, the packaging is also pretty sweek. I love it.

-Blessedly Rich on top of it and I really like the look of them together.
-Riviera Life - I added this one in at the last minute. I just put a bit on my bottom lip and smooshed them together. It looks like a full application. Boy is this orange! I do think Chanel Calypso looks more red than this one. It looks pure orange to me. I really like it though. I may turn into a bright lips girl with this one.
-Emerald Sea power point pencil - I haven't used this yet, just swatched but I had to get it because I have made it my business to own all mac green eye liners

-Au Rose Sun Tint - haven't tried yet

-SunDipped Bronzer - I meant to wait to try this in store but somehow it ended up in my cart. I was really looking for a lighter bronzer to use in winter months. I'm pretty happy with Stila Sun 2 - my favorite and refined golden (second fave) but I find them to be too much when I want to slightly warm up my winter pale skin. I put sundipped under the cheek bones and I can see it but on my temples it looks a little ashy. This might work for winter but definitely not now. I don't know why but it just occurred to me to look for a winter bronzer in winter tirme. Yikes!

167 SH brush - I haven't tried this yet but I really love mini brushes so I had to get it.

I debated whether or not I should post this mini review. I just got the stuff and I already have a full face of makeup on but I know if I wait, it just may not happen. I went shopping yesterday and I'm on product overload. I figured I should post in case it helps someone who is going to the stores on Thursday.

Off to catch up on this thread.
If Sun Dipped is ashy on you then it def isn't going to work for me, so I think refined golden is the one I need to get but I really wanted the pro longwear formula. Or I might just skip the bronzer all together and get nothing from this collection and go with a different brand.

I think I'm going to take my chances and wait and see if the bags show up at a CCO. I was just at the one nearby a week ago and they still had the Fafi totes. That way I can get them for a discount. And if they don't show up there, it wasn't meant to be. But I'm sure a lot of people will find they bags pricey and will skip them... Fingers crossed!
That's what I'm planning to do as well. I actually bought the mini and small Fafi bags a couple of weeks ago.I saw the tote as well, but decided I didn't need it. I won't be too broken hearted if I don't find it at the CCO, though. As cute as the bags are, nautical themed bags aren't exactly difficult to find. If not now, I'll see something similar eventually.

I don't think brush guards are necessary, I use toilet paper/paper towels when I want to get brushes back in shape or want to protect them. I got this tipp from Dustin Hunter's video, very helpful I think. You just wrap a piece around the brush handle and slide it over the bristles. Drying Your Makeup Brushes - YouTube
Hi Naynadine. Thank u so much for this link. The brush guards worked great for me, but lately they have been making my beautiful MAC brushes frey . I am hoping beyond hope that the paper towel trick can shape them back to good again! Take care!

what do you think of to catch a sailor? i really want to see that on someone. Glad your stuff showed up !
It is very frosty and brings out my lip lines. I have light to medium skin and it seemed a little too light for me at first but its not that bad once you look at yourself from farther away. It was like a less dramatic nude lip. It is pretty, but I prefer to put a bit of gloss over it to cover up the lines on my lips. I put a little Hush Hush tendertone over it and it looked really nice.

I am thinking about adding Red Racer to my pre-sale...do you guys think it would look good on NC10? I don't have any other bright red lipsticks and I am thinking a girls gotta have at least one right? What finish is Red Racer?

EDIT: Or should I get Send Me Sailing instead?

I'm probably NC15 - never got matched with a foundation but I am the lightest NARS foundation shade.
I think you should just go for it! Have you checked out Sail le Vie? Red racer is a gorgeous red and it suited me but I think Sail le Vie looked much nicer on.
Though if you just want a red just go for Red Racer, its nice and classic and feels nice on and like you, Red Racer is my first red lipstick. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly impressed if you buy it. :)

I sort of matched myself...but I am the lightest of every other foundation so either way we are pretty close.

I am actually not really into oranges at all, which is why I am a little worried about Red Racer because it's a yellow toned red...there is just something about oranges etc. that really washes me out! Last year I got Hibiscus and that's about as orange as it gets for me...and I don't really wear it at all (though I loved it last year, go figure).

Mostly I want it because I like that it's a pinup red, I don't have any classic reds...anything I have that is near that is either pink-ish or raspberry...but not RED haha. I'm glad to hear it was your first red too...it can't be that bad then can it? :)

I wouldn't be surprised to see it sneak up on us either tonight or tomorrow.
I'm stalking the site because I want Sail La Vie lol. The more I try to convince myself I have adequate dupes (Scarlet Ibis, Rimmel Kate Moss #12) the more I'm convinced that I still need SLV in my life!  Riviera Life is taunting me, too!
I am being taunted by RL & BR. I've really gotten into LGs lately & I was never a gloss addict. I don't wear it all that often but my gloss collection has quadrupled since hitting the CCOs. Then I couldn't decide between Sonorian Rain & Nitro, so I bought both. Gotta stop doing this! [B[/B][/B]

A few questions: 1. Are there any good dupes for SI or Hibiscus??? Does not need to be MAC. 2. I hated the way Vegas Volt looked on me do you all think that I'm going to dislike SLV on me?, I love bold lips, especially reds, but I'm trying to branch out...especially in the Nude (fingers crossed for TCAS) & Pink realm. & I can't remember how VV compares to SLV or if they r similar. 3. How does Handforged compare to Eldardo by UD??? 4. Is Blue Storm Pigment a dupe for the blue Pigment From HS??? Thanks everyone!

I'm a red lip fiend & I love how a lot of u are giving it a try with RR from this collection. But, if it doesn't work out, please don't discount all reds because they are not all created equally. With certain skintones & undertones, one may need a red with blue in it or a red that pulls a little pink. I am hoping that I like the way SLV looks on me b/c oranges look so good on people when they are the right one (Pixie Dancer)!

1. I'm not sure what dupes exist for Hibiscus. I've heard that Toxic Tale is a brighter, pinker lippie, but I believe that was LE also. You may want to check your local CCO if you want Hibiscus. If they don't have it available/you're unable to get there, my CCO still has it in stock and I'd be more than happy to head over and pick one up for you this weekend.

Yeah I still want to try red if this doesn't work out...hopefully because it's not out and out orange I'll be fine with it...
