MAC Job Fair question? (different than group interview?)

Hi all!

I have a question! I stumbled upon a post on craigslist that MAC inside Macy's is having a job fair this Monday and that it says
"If you love M.A.C, have a passion and skill for make up artistry and have experience in customer service and retail, please join us for our open Job Fair

Please be prepared to meet the M.A.C recruitment team and to present your resume."

Of course it has the address etc.

My question is - So Do I just show up (dressed in black), with My resume? I read some of the threads, but there was nothing too much on job fairs in particular (only demo interviews which was after a verbal interview).. So I'm not sure what to expect.

Also I'm currently a nursing student but only go to school twice a week and am pretty flexible with my schedule, I have a professional Resume that lists my nursing careers as well as another resume I have with my blogging experience..(not sure if I should even mention that).. I do have retail experience but I have not worked retail for over 5 years due to my nursing career. A friend of mine suggested bringing in my professional resume as is and including some photos of work that I have done.

I am prepared and ready if I were to get interviewed - but I've never been to a mac job fair and have only been to nursing career fairs where the companies try to get you to work for them (like they try to tell you what's good about their company etc).. is this at all how it's going to be? or Do I need to bring a Model, or what in the world do I bring? How should my hair and makeup be?

Sorry if i'm all over the place with my questions - It was just short notice that I saw this ad and wanted to jump on it since it's only a couple days away!

Oh I did have a question - if you were asked, "If a client did not like their makeup application what would you do"
would the correct answer be to ask the client what he/she does not like and try to fix it to their liking?

Thank you in advanced.. i'm sure if i think of anything else i'll ask it here - I appreciate any help I can get!

I went to a MAC Career Call and that is how I was hired :) This is how it went for me...I haven't worked in over 2 years because I was a stay at home mom. I'm a licensed cosmetologist and worked at Ulta so that is what I put on my resume. I also put that I have been freelancing. I showed up to the career call in all black, full face makeup, and hair curled stylishly. You want to look like you already work there. When I showed up, I signed in and the recruiter would take 3 of us at a time to interview. She took our resumes and asked us general questions on availability and what locations we'd like to work at and our retail experience. Then she asked a few questions like on a scale of 1-5, 5 being the best, how would you rate the makeup on your face. The whole interview took about 10 minutes. After that she let us know if we moved on to the next step which is the demo interview. I passed and was called about 2 weeks later for my demo :)

How did your interview go? I receive an email to go to the job fair and I had my interview on July 25th. The lady who interviewed me loved me and asked me to come do the demo the next day. But lots of ppl came back also because they were hiring for all Orlando and Tampa locations. Anyway my demo went well, i just forgot to sanitize right before I started, not sure if anyone noticed, but I immediately stopped and sanitized. Other than that the manager at the location that i want to work at stopped and told me my work was beautiful (even though I didn't get to put the lipstick on). But my model liked the look so much that she had me ask a manager if it was okay if I fix + her so it would last all day. The manager followed me back to my client and took notes, good I hope. They told us that those who are chosen would receive a call within a week. So I have until next Friday to wait. I am so anxious, and nervous. I have a cosmetology license, plenty of retail experience, i did great on my interview, I will have full availability I did my best to sell and talk to my model during the process. I cant imagine why i wouldn't get offered the part time position. I will accept freelance, but i REALLY want partime of fulltime. I've been looking around to see if anyone else on specktra applied, but no such luck. I don't want to call them because they clearly said give them a week. I just hate playing the waiting game!!

how i maintain composure
how to assist angry client.
give example of a time could not help a client
time in my life i made myself proud
where do i see myself in the future
where i rate myself on 1-10 in doing makeup
favorite mac product.
how to help a client who is confused what she wants, example is she wants something neutral, but bright.
why mac

It was a long interview, So for some reason I dont feel like i will have a 3rd. I may be exaggerating but i feel she asked questions nonstop for 30 mins most were regular interview question the rest were related to sells and customer service. i feel like the whole process was easy, the nerve racking part is the waiting. waiting on the interview, waiting to do your demo, and waiting for the call back. Other than that its a breeze.
