I'd get rid of Tre cheek for this. I'm seriously considering it. But, like you I was going through my collex this week and I have sooo much stuff I barely touch. I either forget it's there or I am rushing and do the same go to look everyday.

I've got a bazillion things now too. I've got a system that helps me really rotate stuff, though. I got started with this out of not having storage shelves where I could easily keep everything in one place and not wanting to rummage through 4 different boxes for everything. Every month or so, I take a few blushes, shadows, MSFs and lip products that suit the season and each other and keep them all together in one case. I include all products from the current collections too. This way, I just stick my hand in and I've got a bunch of color-coordinated and season appropriate looks laying right there, easy access. I also keep a bag with the really overt, night-time clubbin' crazy stuff in one spot. This winds up working out really well and saves me a lot of time! I'm not gonna be wearing Elude or Restrict in the middle of summer anyhow....

I do something similar with products I want/must finish! I keep them on my desk in a clear box.. it's really helpful and I feel satisfied when I finish something ^^ but it's also a bit boring because I always use the same stuff :/

Funny, I never really get bored with my products. I usually have enough stuff in that bag for plenty of looks and if it's getting stale, it's about time to update what's in the bag anyhow. I usually don't buy too many stinkers anyhow, because I only buy in person, so everything always looks flattering, at least. :D

This sounds like a great idea! Kind of like summer/winter clothes, why not do the same with makeup! I've been meaning to do this type of system with my MAC lipsticks. Right now, they're alphabetized lol, but I think it might make more sense to group them by color!

When originally posted, it was said that THREE eye shadows would not be permanent. It has been confirmed that Ever Ivory is LE. What are the other two?

Hi, do you guys know which of those blushes would be nice for a "medium" skin? I'm Vietnamese with a bit of a tan. The MSF natural that I use is the Medium Plus. I don't use any foundation so I can't be a bit more specific about my skin colour.

ohhh great idea... Now come over and tell me which products belong to which season, and look good together! LOL ;-)

So now that is September, pretty much after labor day, are you reaching for fall products? Or do you switch when the seasons actually switch or look like they are changing? Our weather has been so inbtwn. Was 74 degrees, but muggy as hell last night, I had on way to many clothes, but the day started off really cool.

I will take *all* of the pinks. The glosses, the plw...so excited! And I love the promo ads, with the pink chick. So cute.

Thanks for the link. This blog suggests that, besides Ever Ivory eye shadow, Everlasting Nude Lipglass will also not be permanent. Can anyone confirm or deny?
Of course, the top two things on my list. I probably wouldn't have waited long to pick them up anyway. Thanks for letting us know.

I like to pair my makeup with my clothes, so that's part of the equation for me, but the main thing is the changing seasons, especially how the days get longer/shorter and the light gets brighter/more diffused. The light quality is a big deal and makes or breaks me looking too made up and haggly, especially at my age.

Right now, I'm cutting back on the pastel lipsticks and the bright glosses and going more towards the HC and Semi-Precious lipsticks and low-key gloss, but I'm still using face products with shimmer. When the days get shorter, I'll use fewer MSFs and more matte and satin face powders and move into the vampy lip territory when the days are very noticeably shorter- that's when I'm wearing more black clothes too, so it works better. Actually, Style Seeker has perfect colors for right now for me, so that's getting a lot of use. I also wind up using cooler toned shades in the late fall/winter/early spring because I get paler and the warm undertones in my skin go away some. I don't use bronzer very often in these seasons either. A good example is what nude lipstick I use: Winter= Restrict, Spring = Playing Koi, Summer = Salute! and now Fall = Delectable/Cusp of Dawn.

If I was living somewhere where it was already rainy and cloudy a lot, I'd probably already be busting out deeper colors etc.

Totally makes sense Liba, thank you! I'm going to try this. I realized, I've been reaching for the same colors this summer (golds/bronze e/s bright lip) b/c I tend to wear the same color clothes. Looks like it is time to revamp by clothes and spend a lil less on makeup. but that's a whole nother can of worms.

Talking about colours - I miss turquoise and teals. Hope we'll get them back next year.

Pinks on the other hand are not my cup of tea. Nor mattes. Maybe I skip the e/s (and glosses) after all

I do this too; I've already transitioned away from MSF and the shinier glosses. They looked great in the summer but don't look right now. I'm also back to wearing more e/s. In the summer I frequently just used a paint pot for a quick wash of shimmery colour and added a touch of fluidline/mascara and called it a day. Now the sheer shimmer looks underdone.

I was trying to finish three CSG by early fall but I doubt I'll make it; glosses just aren't the look I'm going for right now. I'll have to remember next year not to purchase more than two or three in the spring; I don't get through more than that during the season.

On the MAC site the blushes and e/s both are described as 'semi-matte', for everyone who was wondering about the finish.
