I'm a bit sad that Fashion Nomad looks so much like Morange and Neon Orange. I like Sail La Vie on me, but a brighter orange like Morange isn't really my thing.
After a lot of thinking about colours similar to Supercontinental I'm no wondering how it compares to Hipness.
supercontinental is more subdued than hipness.... i was disappointed with supercontinental with fleet fast being so similar...

I went to MAC today. I made a pit stop at the Styleseeker display while I was leaving the store. I wanted to swatch the blush again just to see how the colors compare to what I already have. I first swatched them at the pre-release party event, but I wasn't really paying attention to the colors at the time. Wordly Wealth was replaced with Raizin on the display. Supercontinental seemed a little ashy on me. Hidden Treasure is pretty, but I do have similar.

The display still had testers out for all four eye shadow duos. I swatched only On the Hunt because that's the one I remember liking the most from the pre-release event. I admired the colors, but left the store empty handed. I didn't get very far. I stopped walking and took another moment to stare at the swatches on my arm. Then I turned right back around and got it. I was lucky because I got the last one. I didn't plan to get any of the duos, but On the Hunt kept nagging at me. Now I'm thinking about going back to swatch Marché Aux Puces. I remember liking the orange shadow at the event as well.

I've got quite a few orange shadows and the one in MAP has gone to the top of the list. Only Paparazzi-she looks better on me, but its texture isn't quite as nice (which is saying something).

{snip}

The NARS ones were pretty easy. I have a candle warming plate that I use for the heat. I just set the whole package on there and waited for a minute or two. I didn't disassemble the packaging, just let the whole thing warm up. I have an X-acto knife that I place on the side of the pan and just apply the smallest bit of pressure. If it sounds like the glue is loosening, it should slowly pop right up, if there's no sound, I put it back on the plate for a little longer. For me, it helps keep my diligence with getting the pans out. Sometimes I just keep applying pressure and that's when the product cracks or crumbles!
I briefly toyed with the idea of depotting my NARS blushes. Aside from the fear of ruining them, I really like the NARS casing.

The orange in MAP is even nicer than the one in LL - it's smoother and more buttery with more of a duotone effect, with the highlight reading more yellow gold and the base color a bit deeper and more subdued. You can blend it all the way up to the brow really nicely. The brown is just the right stiffness for sharp creases and wings, unlike a lot of other browns - very handy feature!

Lol, now I really feel the need to swatch it. My eye shadow collection is still in its infancy. The only orange shadow I have is Magnetic Attraction. And the only browns I have are Carbonized, Sparkle Neely, Sparkle!, and the browns in the Wet n Wild Vanity palette. I would say Moth Brown, but that's really more purple/gray.

I'll check with my Pro store tomorrow and see if they have any more.
OhSoJaded, I called yesterday and they sold the last CC a few days ago. The SA did tell me that she may have a new one at home and if so, then I can have it. I'll PM you if it works out.

I guess it depends on how good orange looks on you. Oranges, rusts and reddish colors are my most flattering eye shadow colors - they bring out the green in my eyes really strongly, plus they override the darker skin around my eyes better than just straight neutral skin colors do - but it's the sort of color range that looks fake and clownish on other people, or makes them look like they have an eye disease. Worst case scenario, colors like this are going to be showing up going forward....they'll be around next spring for sure. You have options!

All of you who missed On the Hunt, there are a few shadows in Office Hours that are going to be similar - maybe a little pinker/redder, but close enough. I really debated getting OtH vs. the Office Hours ones, because I like something with plenty of pink and red undertones for my green eyes, but I particularly liked Star Myth's shimmer, plus the duo was a better deal overall than buying individual jumbo sized shadows.

However.....to make you feel better, Raving Mad is quite stiff. Personally, I like the stiffness, because you can get a really cut crease or sharp wing with it, but it's not that blendable, if you prefer a really softened edge. There will certainly be an Office Hours one that'll be close and you can always use something like Magnetic Attraction, which is very similar, in place of Star Myth. (I didn't get MA because I already had In the Sun, even though MA was smoother, but now I have Star Myth, which is very beautiful and easy to work with).

I dunno if this really talks anyone out of lemming OtH, but there are options out there to help with the Skipper's Remorse!
I used Raving Mad with the 217 yesterday and it did blend really well into Star Myth. It is more stiff than other shadows, but really not in a bad way. I can still blend it quite well. Don't swatch the shadow with your fingers though, because it will ruin it. At least when I swatched the tester that was brand new I could feel it getting worse. I guess you already knew swatching it with your fingers isn't a good idea, but I just want to mention it for others when they are swatching at their counter/store.
On my skin Star Myth doensn't look like MA, because on me it's a bit darker and MA has more yellow in it. I guess it depends on the swirling in MA, but MA seems more summery to me as well.

I think between Fashion Nomad and EE, FN is the better choice. It's really vibrant without being cartoon orange, like MAC's perm oranges, with a subtle red undertone. EE has an excellent texture that's more versatile than Riviera Life, but the two are very close color-wise. I felt it was a little too trendy looking to be worth having both, unlike FN which was more sophisticated and less 2012-is-the-year-of-orange trendiness.

For me, Ready to Roam is the nicest of the glosses by a long shot. It's got a fantastic texture for a lipglass. It's not so sticky, so you can actually blot it down into a gorgeous stain that looks like a less pink Fire Sign, or you can wear a light layer that looks less wet-look glossy than most opaque red glosses, or go for maximum gloss and opacity if you want - you can have it any way you like! EE also has a good texture like that, but it's more of a color that's going to feel dated really fast.

Delectable is my favorite casual lip color in this collection - it's very sexy and deeper and creamier that last year's version, also nice when blotted into a stain. Restless will look great over it. Eden Rouge is very nice, but I'd rather wait for Marilyn reds. It's a nice texture, but not the most unique color. Get Ready to Roam and wear it over Camden Chic for a more exciting color.

Chessa did swatch really nice, but I'm not attracted to the duo as much as others. I prefer the LL quad overall. I think I'll swatch it again monday if I have time to go to the counter.
I felt like FN would be out of style sooner than the EE lipglass. I think I'll swatch both again as well.

I was hoping to get the "On The Hunt" eye shadow duo, but it is now Sold Out on-line and in my local shop - which is holding the few other things i want from Styleseeker (i'm not home yet, just on the road - it's a looong drive to San Francisco from Ithaca NY). Nordstrom and Macy's are both sold out of this duo, too.

Can anyone suggest dupes - or at least something close - for Raving Mad and Star Myth? Christine of Temptalia recommended some dupes, but the closest ones were also LE and i don't have them. If this came up already, my apologies, i haven't been reading every single post on this topic - i searched the thread and didn't see any suggestions, but i could have missed them.

Thanks!

I bet the duos will show up at CCO's at some point in the future.

Mac-Guy - I hope so! Every where I've looked in my area: Nordies, Macy's, free standing MAC stores, etc. the duos I was kinda interested in are sold out.

I'm glad I finally decided to pass on them - I can dupe things from my genormous e/s stash.

I really would be surprised not to see them at CCO's. Duos are a typical candidate to end up there. And I don't mean that the quality is bad. If I wouldn't have purchased most of the shades last year in the European release, I would have bought at least two duos. It's just that most duos, trios, and quads are "CCO material," even items from hot collections such as Fafi or Heatherette (which I just saw a few weeks ago in two CCO's in Texas).

Maybe! I can never predict what'll end up in the CCO though - I once found (and bought!) a BNIB Marine Life!

I thought I was done with this collection but I saw Ready to Roam on a Youtuber (Arielhope if you know her) and it looked really nice. Now it's on my mind.
