MAC X The Return of Marilyn Monroe Collection Discussion (2013)

On the one hand, I think it's way, way too soon for a Return of Marilyn collection. I mean, we're only hitting the five month marker in March, aren't we? Way to effectively erase all senses of LE novelty. xD

On the other hand, perhaps I'll be more prompted to use my Marilyn stuff. I think I've only worn DA three times, CIS once maybe, and I don't even think I've worn LG except to compare it to Revlon Cherries in the Snow.

If anyone is interested I went BU crazed on Deeply Adored & CIS, if anyone is interested PM me. There is no need for me to have extras when I have a bunch of LSs I haven't even touched yet!

I have both powders, nars light reflecting powder and FM. I can honestly say I love the FM powder. It helps hide redness and never made my dry spots standout, I felt that the nars powder did just decent for me. It gave a nice radiant look to the skin but I don't feel it made my skin look any better? It made my skin look dry. I'm guessing the nars powder would be more suitable for oily skin

did u get the pressed or loose version of the nars powder? I have combo skin lilt t zone with dry cheeks. a lot of powders emphasize the dry patches and FM doesnt do that. I read the co parisons so I was planning to get one from nars eventually but I guess I should try it before I buy it? I only have 1 FM ;(

I bought the pressed form. The loose powder received a higher score on temptalia. I like the pressed but i would pick the FM over it. The nars would be ok if you didn't have FM. I never want to be without FM, though! Have you hit Pan, yet? I still have a long way to go. Lol

I have both FM and the NARS powder and find them both very different. Because FM is lighter than my skin tone but is so effective at reducing redness, I use it lightly in lieu of foundation; it has surprisingly good coverage. I have the NARS loose powder and use that as a finishing powder over foundation; it's completely translucent on me and very finely milled so has a very different finish. I don't like FM over foundation; it feels too heavy.

Neither powder are mattifying enough for my t-zone. When using the NARS powder, I use blot powder on my t-zone and then the loose powder over the remainder of my face. When I use FM, I use it everywhere but end up using blotting papers throughout the day.

I'm glad I have both, but I don't find them interchangeable. Those with lighter skin tones likely have different results.

thank you for your thoughts ladies! tried quoting all of u but my phone is being dumb lol. Im nowhere near hitting the pan on FM paisley ;) I use it often but not everytime I do my makeup. I don't wear foundation, only a bb cream. I guess I'm going to hold off on the nars and and hopefully they will release FM again with the return of MM in fall. If they don't release it then I will get the nars powder. For now i think I should be ok untill fall ;) Thanks again ladies!!

No kidding. I would be in heaven if they would bring back Barbie. I LOVED that collection as did everyone else. I have a tiny little bit of Pearl Blossom beauty powder left in my last BU. It's my FAVORITE for a soft blush in the summer on my nw10 skin.

Personally I found the Marilyn collection to be pretty boring and I passed on the whole lot of it.

I'm actually using both today. Nars all over my face over Dior BB cream and FM as a highlight. Love them together
