I actually haven't used it before, I usually use texture or saddle in the crease, but sometimes, depending on the day, they give a tad bit too much color.
I think it'll work very well as a crease/blending color. my friend, who's about an NC 43-44 uses it all the time.

Soft brown is also a good transition color.

I've been playing with my eyeshadows, and I am going to return Hajar Karim. It is so hard to get it to apply and to blend well. It went on quite patchy. Too bad, because in the pan it is such a pretty green.

So disappointed to hear this. Mine won't arrive until Tuesday and I hope patting it over a paint pot will help to avoid the patchiness that you experienced. You're right---the pretty color drew me in.

I already have shroom, but there is less than subtle pan porn going on with it. I have wanted soft brown for some time now but it is not available in Europe anymore. That already justified buying the quad. Beautyburst looks pretty as well as the darkest shade so that's a bonus. I expect the quad to be useful.

Totally loving Banafsaji, it really brings out the green in my chameleon eyes (they look grey, green or blue depending on the light etc). It definitely needs a primer or base though, as I wore it without and it faded badly. I'm also not sure what to pair it with to look the best, any suggestions?

Thanks. I'm not a native speaker, so three weeks ago i posted on this board some potential translations:

Individual Eyeshadows
Gameela - "Beautiful" - no hard "G" sound in standard Arabic, just a "j" sound, so it's more often Romanized as Jamila or Jameela
Banafsaji - Violet - Arabic borrowed the word from Persian
Farasha - Butterfly
Hajar Karim - literally "Generous Stone" - probably means "Jewel" or "Gem"

Rimal Dahabia Eyeshadow Quad
Rimal = Sands and Dahabia = Golden - so the quad name is "Golden Sands"
Najm el Lail - Najm = "star" and al Lail = "night" or "of the night" - so the shadow's name is "Star of the Night"

Masat al Lail Eyeshadow Quad
al Lail - "NIght" or "of the Night"
i can't find Masat in my dictionary, but there are several different ways to write "s" and "t" (each with its own sound), so maybe i'm not coming up with the correct combo.

Sama Blue Mascara - Sama may mean "soaring", which goes well with blue.

Reassuring to me to know i wasn't too far off.

I enjoy reading Christine's comments and seeing her swatches on Temptalia. I may not always agree with her or have the same experiences with the products, but i find her blog valuable. She and i have different coloring - she's a good deal darker than i am - and i take that into account. For example, she said three of the Marilyn eye shadows were the same - and on me they were all quite distinctly different. She just reports in a generally well-written and methodical manner her experiences.

I TOTALLY skip the readers' comments, though. A lot of people on the internet just enjoy writing snarky stuff pretty much anywhere that allows comments, not just on Temptalia.

I can't wait to have Parrot in my hands. It's the first MAC shadow that I fell in love with, and of course it was already sold out by the time I got into MAC. So even though I may have 5 or 10 or more shadows that look similar to it, I still have to have it.

Maybe using it over one of the new color tattoos might help? They are particularly creamy.

I am hoping this will work. That color just jumped out at me - I was disappointed to see the news that it was patchy.

Depending on your skintone, you could try Wedge, Omega, Cork, Soba, Saddle, or Texture.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm NC40/42 so I think most of these will work on me. Texture has been on my wishlist for awhile. Might have to pick it up soon.
