hi everybody. i got to see the whole collection the other day - sorry i haven't been able to get to writing one of my usual missives, but people are getting their things in the mail by now, so at least there are plenty of lovely photos from everyone! Gotta talk about the blushes - I don't know if I finally ran into one of these batches you have to scrape, but I found them to be very subtly pigmented. Royal Sunset barely showed on me at all - and I'm NC15 (at least on bare skin). Honey Jasmine I liked, even though it was super subtle, because it has strong yellow undertones which works very well with my skin tone and just very gently warmed my up all over without oompa loompa face. If you were someone who liked Fresh Honey MB - this is the softer, more pastel version, with less brown. I didn't get to try the eye shadow palette on my eyes, but the colors are great if you are looking for greys that don't go bluish and cool around the eyes. All Woman quad is very much in the same department, although it has more of a mix of tones and that one taupe-ish one, while Rainy Season is a more subtle array. All the textures were great - very soft and pigmented, but i bet this could also turn up in batches that will need the scraping, like the blushes. I put one aside, but that's because I don't have a lot of good grey shadow that works for me already. They certainly have just the right color balance to go great with all the lipsticks. And those lipsticks! Wow! If you love orange lipstick, you will be in hog heaven. The only one that didn't pop like crazy on me was Tart & Trendy, which with my lip color mixing in, seemed a bit subdued. It will look fantastic on darker skin than mine and also on cool toned people of any skin tone (probably will be one of the easiest colors for very fair and cool toned people to wear from this collection, in my opinion). The only complicated thing for me was between the lustres and the other finishes, you would wind up with a few that seemed almost identical, except one would be very bright and strong (the non-lustres) and one would be subtle and good for any day (the lustres). The best example is Razzledazzler vs. Sweet & Sour, but Tart & Trendy vs. Sushi Kiss fits in here. Of course, Flamingo and Razzledazzler are very related shades too. Last year I didn't even buy Razzledazzler because Flamingo seemed enough for my needs, but this year I'm getting both, primarily because I lost my Flamingo and have really been jonesing for more lippies like it ever since. Sushi Kiss is just ridiculously adorable and so is Sweet & Sour. I'd say SK is more related to Reel Sexy and Sweet & Sour is more related to Betty Bright, but BB is much pinker than anything in this collection and Reel Sexy still stands as being the unique color it is and is still my favorite of all (although it's got good competition from SK and S&S). Tangerine Dream is just wacky - like something I had back in the 90s. I like it for being completely funky, but this is a club color; not something to wear all the time. I love Sheer Manderin Sheen Supreme and DO wear that one a lot for any occasion as a jazzy not-quite-nude, but TD is much more outrageous on me, even when blotted down. Still, I love it when MAC comes up with something out of left field like this, so I'm all for it! The nail polishes are really pretty too. Ke Ai has a lovely crystal sparkle shimmer in a very pale pink sheer jelly - super pretty and a change of pace from all the crazy nail polish color trends. Sweet Pop is a very orangey peach that is cute but not super bright and in your face. Definitely what I'd call an "it" color for this year. I've got another couple of polishes from China Glaze that are related, but all of those are much, much brighter and in your face, while Sweet Pop is more sophisticated, without becoming more drab and run of the mill. I have nothing against MAC polish, especially the newer formulas, and think they really do nude and subtle colors better than any other brand and these two are excellent in that department.
Thanks for your awesome review Liba!!!

Everyone looks beautiful with their new goodies! Great hauls ladies. I missed the MAC online launch so I'll be stalking Nordies. Based on swatches and raves I'll be getting: Sushi Kiss x2 Sweet and Sour x2 Razzledazzler x2 (missed previous launch) Flamingo x2 (missed previous launch) I'm skipping Tart & Trendy b/c I think I can achieve the same look by layering Saigon Summer which is perm. I also have Sounds Like Noise which I haven't worn yet, so I don't need any bold orange lippies at the moment. I'm also skipping Tangerine Dream b/c I would definitely layer it to get the color I want so I'd rather get OCC Banjee (I haven't tried OCC so this is the perfect time to do so!). Neon Orange is perm so it can wait and as I've said I need to break in SLN! If I'm not mistaken Erin said the blushes are suited for fair-medium skinned beauties (Erin feel free to jump in and correct me if I'm wrong)...so I'm not sure if I should get any of them. I do like Honey Jasmine though.  Also, I thought the CS l/g were perm? According to T they're LE. Did anyone purchase at least one? My only CS is Deelight. I was wondering if the CS from this collection would be worth trying out. Have any of you ladies added l/g on top of your lippies? If so, which one(s)? What about l/l? TIA
Depending on how dark you are, you may have to build HJ for it show, but then you run the risk of it looking powdery due to the amount of product. For an orangey cheek, I'd suggest RFL or Modern Mandarin, if you can find or already have either of them. Or even Devil blush (GORGEOUS colour, and so pretty on the eyes too! And yeah, lately a lot of T's info on product availability has been incorrect. The glosses have been perm for a year or so now.

My local MAC phoned to let me know they just got this collection yesterday, so i could come down and test. So i went down around opening time today to test. I already ordered Immortal Flower and Royal Sunset the morning of the on-line release - i ordered 2-day shipping so the package should arrive Mon.

But the one lipstick i was certain i wanted, Flamingo, was already sold out on-line. And i wanted to test Razzledazzler and Sweet & Sour. I don't wear oranges much - only if they're pinky. Otherwise oranges just don't work on my split personality skin colors.

So this AM i tested Rd, S&S, and Fl on my lips, after using a cosmetic cleaner on them first. S&S was just too opaque and insistently orange on me, as i suspected, since it's a cremesheen. I was really most interested in comparing Rd and Fl, since both are lustres, and are a bit sheer and more wearable to me. I put Fl on the left side of my lips and Rd on the right. They are close enough in color that i don't need both. Fl was cooler, pinker, so that's the only one i want to get.

I'll be sitting outside MAC's door with a hot coffee Thursday AM - they often only get 3 (+ a tester) of LE items, so i can't delay.

While prepping my face to go down there i realized i have no orange-y / coral-y blushes that don't have gold flecks or lots of shimmer, so IF will fill a gap in my blush collection.

Royal sunset blush Sweet & sour lipstick mixed with love goddess. My lips are too chapped to wear sweet & sour alone today, but I love it on its own! I know I already said this but I love this collection!!

Thanks Honeybee! What are you getting from this collection? I SERIOUSLY hope you're getting Tangerine Dream - you've got the personal style to really rock it. (This thread got so huge, I haven't caught up yet, so if you posted your haul already, I missed it.)

You're going to love Immortal Flower. It's a wonderful blush and very versatile. Try it when you wear red lips - it sounds a little counterintuitive, but it's a very sexy, modern look with some subtle, slightly smokey brown or bronze shading around the eyes. I've practically halted all pink cheeks with red lips in favor of peach and coral and tan - just looks much more NOW. Did you check out Honey Jasmine too? I think I like it even better than IF for me - it blends really well with my freckles and gives me a lot of warmth without being tan, orange or golden, which is really cool. Thanks Honeybee! As a matter of fact Liba I am!!! I also want Flamingo and SK. I was contemplating on RD and S&S.. I'm pulling for HJ if it shows up on me decent enough. Thank you Liba ;)

I received my goodies yesterday (surprising since I paid for 2-day shipping and it came a day early!). I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. The lipsticks are not quite what I expected. I like them, just don't love them. Here are my thoughts:

Sushi Kiss-this one is a neutral orange on me, almost a light pumpkin; from swatches, I thought there would be more pink but there is none
Sweet & Sour-somehow, this turned nude on me; it's looks similar to what Altered Beige looks like on most people
Tarte & Trendy-my favorite of all of them, such a nice orange shine which leans a bit red
Neon Orange-I know this is perm but I bought it when there was free 2-day shipping; love it, a nice bright orange-red
Tangerine Dream-orangey-gold frost? Slightly yellow leaning but I think this might look nice on top of color colors to add some gold shimmer
I already have Flamingo from IA, but I am not a huge fan. It's a very subtle pink on me. Barely any color.

For reference, I have very rosy pigmented lips. I don't know my MAC color but I do wear MUFE Duo Mat in 207 (beige). I also bought Honey Jasmine and Immortal Flower but haven't tried them on yet.

Hope this helps someone who is still deciding what they want!

OT - but I wanted to give a shout out to a what turned out to be a great new product for me. Smashbox CC cream. I had one dark spot from an old acne scar that bugged the heck out of me. Well, after I used the new CC cream just about 3 times, the darkened spot was lightened/decreased by about 30%!!! After about 2 months of using it (not even regularly) its almost completely gone. Even hubs noticed it without me saying anything. I whined about this spot forever as it drove me crazy to see it. Now my skin looks almost flawless. I've tried everything that promised to erase dark spots but nothing ever even diminished it slightly. I was considering laser, but now I won't have to. Everyones skin is different, but thought this may help someone else.
I'm very light but use the Fair as a perfect match. The lightest shade was too yellow/weird for my skin. it gets very good reviews.

I still want HJ

wow, that's impressive. I've got one dark spot that bugs the heck out of me too, and nothing I've tried has managed to put a dent in it. I was also thinking about laser, but this will be a cheaper alternative - gonna check it out. I wonder why it's so much better than everything else out there?

Yep...same here. I tried everything from drugstore to very high-end expensive stuff & nothing worked - until this. I guess it has something in it that actually breaks down the pigmentation. I read about & then got a sample/color match from Nordies thinking, yeah, I'm sure it will not be any different. I freaked out when it was diminished
girlhaha.gif
Because I was whining about how much I hated it all the time...hubs was like yeah, I noticed right away
lol.gif
that it was barely noticeable.

I really really hope that it helps a lot of people like it did me. I just bought a regular bottle of it from Smashbox & I got a free kabuki brush..woot!

Wow, well you know me - such a brand loyalist, but I'm going to march down to a Nordies and get color matched for this.

Is it ok for use near the eye area, because I've got one other dark spot that's perfectly placed right in the crease of one of my eye bags, that is cruising for a bruising too.
