Am I the only one who never buy backups? I bought one once, sold it a couple of months later. There's no way I'll finish something since I always buy something new!
I've bought a BU for Centre of the Universe and I regret it (I'm going to sell it), however I have a BU of TPC and it's my favorite blush so I'm really happy with the BU. But normally, I don't do BU's. There's always gonna be something better! :)

I just read in a magazine that you can use 1 lipstick for 280 times

I really have NO idea how they were able to calculate that

Everyone has different lips and applies more or less....
it is an average amount, I believe. I am working in cosmetics R&D and I remember being so amazed the first time I heard that they know what temperature your nails are and what temperature your lips are. So yes, it has been calculated the average thickness of gloss and lipstick applied on your lips. It is about 150 microns for gloss and 50 microns for lipstick (I think it's one swipe each).

Only msfs because I am afraid I will break them and only the ones I really like a lot. I will never go through all my stuff and there is always another collection.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing! Cosmetics R&D sounds so interesting! I'm in glass R&D, but always wanted to get into cosmetics (or food). Do you like your job?

Only backup I bought was Delectable. I thought it was my perfect nude in the store, only to find out that I completely hate how pasty it looks on me in broad daylight. So now I have two Delectables that I don't even touch anymore...

Oh wait, I also bought Redhead when it came out the second time round because I just adored the first one I had from BBR. I used to wear it everyday as a blush, until I suddenly acquired 23 more blushes.

I don't know whom I was kidding buying that second Redhead when the first one's dome is barely flat.

Thank you, cyclops68!

I didn' t know this and it really makes to sense that it is just an average amount.

I don't do backups either. Like you, I rarely finish anything, and always want new products!
The only thing I buy backups for are lipsticks and glosses. I love my lipsticks and I have lost or ruined lipsticks in the past so it's always good when I have a backup. I will 'clean' out my backups from time to time and that means free stuff for my friends.

I *freaking* love my job!! Can you imagine going to work and hearing everyone talking about makeup (even the men)? Before I started, I always thought it was just marketing blah blah blah but now that I am working on an actual project that will (hopefully) become a new technology, I realise how much hard work there is that goes into a tiny tube of product. Also, some cult products actually came from my lab, and my direct boss worked on them. So when I found out, it was like meeting a rock star. The clouds parted and the angels sang. I guess you have to be a nerd and a makeup lover to understand that feeling. But the thing is, I think when you are that upstream in R&D, people aren't really that into the finished product and makeup artistry per se. Because of that, I quickly developed a reputation in some other labs for being really on point with new products and trends etc (although I really am not. I just happen to know a little more than they do). I showed up to my second day of work wearing Full Fuchsia lipstick and everyone was fascinated with it.

Anyway, I keep the size of my collection (humble by specktra standards) and online reviewing, swapping and forum activities my private business. Somehow, I feel like it makes me an even bigger nerd at work if people knew about it.

I almost went into glass R&D... I submitted my application to Saint-Gobain but never heard back from them.

I don't have blush on :) Just mascara from 7AM -__- Thank you, Did you get sweet and sour? You better!
You're so beautiful! I JUST, as in the second I saw your photo, placed the order with my local store for Thursday. I saw it on my friend Jess and fell in love, but you just tossed me over the end into the buy zone. You should list that as an asset on your resume.

Isn't that the truth? I haven't had a chance to wear everything from the last three collections---drowning---need to come up for air but having way too
much fun!
Forget about not having a chance to wear everything... the past couple of months I haven't even taken the time to unpack everything from one box before the next one was on my doorstep! Which is exactly how I accidentally ended up with two of the same pencil, two of the same lipstick, and two of the same e/s.

I got Flamingo and Sushi kiss. After application, (sorry they are so sloppy! i got excited! lol) I was most pleased with Flamingo. Very wearable, buildable pinky orange. However, Sushi kiss is a straight up milky orange color. If applied to heavy, it's just a no go for me. I had to use the slightest hand! I don't love it but applied lightly it's ok Now, I'm really interested in T&T and TD! Does nordies take long with regular shipping? Or should i just wait to check them out on thursday? I was going to look at HJ in store anyway...thoughts?
Nice! I think they compliment you well ;)

S&S is made for you!
I agree! I wish I could put on only mascara and look as pretty as you do, Paisly! And that lipstick really looks fantastic on you. If you haven't already made it your HG lipstick and bought your entire state's worth of stock, you SHOULD!
