Ugh for some reason I had it in my head that this collection was launching on the 11th, making today exactly a week beforehand...I was scouring the MAC site freaking out that I couldn't find anything! Guess I will just have to try this all again on the 15th.

I got a mailer for Indulge Makeovers. Did anyone else get this card? The neon nail polish is not for sale, right? I don't remember any mention of neon polish. Love the highlighter on the model on the inside cover. It is the pic we've seen before with the yellow/gold shadow on the inner corner of eye and triple?? eyeliner. You can see the highlighter color more clearly on the mailer photo. Pretty pink highlighter, probably something I already have though.
I was hoping this mailer was for a party. But no dice. Any parties planned for the Fall collections?

I hope you are having a wonderful evening. You know, I have a question that I bet you have the answer for (I hope!). I am thinking of doing a major change in my makeup. Since I'll be 51 in a little bit over a month, I am thinking of really switching things up. My skin is normal/dry. Right now I am using Touche Eclait Foundation in BR50. I usually end up sheering it out around the whole lower part of my face (to lessen the appearance of pores and lines). That seems to be working pretty good right now. I am also switching over to either Touche Eclait pen or MAC's mineralize concealer. I also light the CCBs and the Prep and Prime clicker pens for highlighting. I also have about five or six cream blushes from a number of different lines. I want to keep my look as dewy as possible while keeping my cream blush from totally disappearing, without having to use loose or pressed finishing powders. I really have become unhappy with what finishing powders (actually most powders) are doing to my dewy look (basically somewhat trashing it). I am thinking of getting rid of all my powder blushes & powder highlighters in lieu of cream or liquids, but I would kick myself in the butt if I do this, then realize that I really should have kept them. Any thoughts? Thanks so much!

What are the powders doing to the dewy finish that you don't like? Are they making them too matte? Is that the only thing you don't like about them? Be a little more specific about what you don't like about what they're doing. I think i know the solution (it's a simple solution if it's what i think it is) but i need a little more info on what you don't like before i make my suggestion. :winkiss:

They dull the pretty dewy look. Even if it is only used a few places here and there, I can see the difference between the two finishes. Me no likey! I don't want a matte finish I am very careful to not use a lot of powder, since they have become an issue for me. The only thing that I can use just a tad bit of without getting super aggravated is the Guerlain Meteorlite beads. That doesn't take away too much of the dewiness. I have about 10 different setting powders, but none that really thrill me. I am also not looking for a super sparkly finish either. That can bite you in the butt super fast. A lot of women around my age and older, end up avoiding powders like the plague. They (and me) don't like what they tend to do: draw attention to lines (settle in), enhance the appearance of pores and leave the skin looking flat and lifeless.
As far as blushes are concerned, it's again that powdery finish that doesn't end up leaving me with a nice kind of lit-from-within glow at all. Cream blushes impart a softer, lit-from-within type of effect, but for me (and some other ladies), they tend to disappear. When you first put it on, it's great. Then you look in the mirror a few hours later, when you realize there is hardly a trace of anything at all, which is also not good. I do use a primer for every single application. I work in an air-conditioned environment, so it is not due to sweating it off.
What do you make of this, Sherlock Holmes?

Thats exactly what i thought. First, I'd recommend the MSFN. It's not matte, but rather a natural, ever so slightly satiny finish. Use the teeniest bit just to set your moisturizer and foundation in the t-zone so you don't look like a greaseball, even tho you are on the drier side. Second, check out the MCLP if you haven't already. It's 70% aqua, so it moisturizes as well. You're darker in skintone, correct (i apologize if I'm wrong). If so, go with cajun if you can find it and use it on your cheekbones (only here to avoid the discoball effect), or even mix it with your foundation or moisturizer and use all over, depending on which gives the better result (mixing will tone down the shim shim shimma). Third, the blush. I was just talking about this at a wedding i did makeup for yesterday. Cream blushes are your frienemy. They are great for drier skin, but they disappear halfway thru the day. The key is to go heavier when you apply them, cuz after awhile they sink into the skin. You need to apply more than you normally would to make up for the amount that would sink into the skin. This is why i stopped wearing mine and am selling all of my cream blushes. Your only other option is to apply a matching powder blush (with shimmer, not matte) lightly on top to set the cream. And finally, (do this step no matter what what option you chose from above) FIX+!!!!!!!! :clapping: Either purchase the travel size (its so stinkin cute!!!) or the normal size and transfer it into a small spray bottle and use it throughout the day. Not only will it keep you hydrated, but it will also tone down any powdery look your products may leave on your face. You could try this step first with your current powders and see if you get the result you're looking for first before chucking the majority of your face products. I hope this was of some help.

I'm going to chime in on how I go for a dewey look (I'm in the dry skin/getting older camp).
MSFN = I like it, but there are even better options out there now, so I honestly don't use it much anymore. It's nice, but it needs Fix+ and even then, has more of a formal, matte look.
MCLP = I'm a fan of it, but it takes a little work - you can't apply too much or it starts working against you. Needs blending and just the right amount of Fix+ to finish. I'm sorry to see it get discontinued, but there are some better things out there and more to come. It IS a really good look when you get the application down just right.
Careblend Powder = OK I love this powder - it's some of the best powder I've used. It's easy on my dry skin - never makes it feel coated or dried up. It's easy to apply - very hard to overdo it. It works over foundation and even alone - the coverage is quite nice. Better than just coverage, it's got a great subtle light reflective sheen to it, not dramatic like a highlighter, but very youthful effect. It's great for day or night. You don't need to use Fix+, since it already has a light effect and doesn't need special melding into the skin. Even great directly on bags under the eyes.
Then, there are some limited edition powders that are even nicer than Careblend, but similar. Elude beauty powder is #1 for fair skin, supremely perfect texture and effect. Forever Marilyn was more matte and formal, but also light and lovely over foundation. For darker skin tones, there are fewer beauty powders, but every now and then, there's a really good one to be grabbed and stocked up on. Careblend will really cover the same territory the best beauty powders do, though. Then there are the Extra Dimension Skin Finishes - these are shinier, but with a very natural shine, like moist, refreshed skin. They seem sheer, but actually give some decent coverage, since they reflect a multitude of sins. They keep making them better and better so they're for sure worth waiting for - the ED blushes are incredible too, for something very natural looking on top of foundation. I also love the Mineralize blushes much more than standard powder blushes, for melding with the skin, but most of them look a bit better over bare skin, instead of foundation - this works ok if you are just using foundation mostly down the center of the face and sheering it out towards the hairline.
For foundation, the new Mineralize liquid foundation is very awesome, with a gel-liquid thing that eradicates pores and skin texture issues, while looking super natural and fresh. I also love the Mineralize cream foundation in the compact - it's a little different look and feel from the liquid one, but also a little bit dewier.
Finally, instead of plain Fix+, definitely try the Mineralize Charged Water. It doesn't have glycerine like Fix+, so it's not as good for fixing eyeshadow etc. but it does have a light reflective finish that is nicer than Fix+ for the full face.

Thanks so much for your input. I will check out the Careblend powder the next time I pop into a MAC store. The next time I need foundation, I will look into the Mineralize foundation. I'll have to see if MAC has a foundation that will match me. They seem to range much more on the yellow spectrum. There doesn't seem to be that many companies that cater or carry foundations for the pinker-toned ladies out there. The only lines where I work that carry some pinker-toned foundations are: Make Up Forever (no matches for me), Lancome (love the lit-from-within series),Guerlain Lingerie De Peau (beautiful), Givenchy (Photo Perfection) and YSL Touche Eclait Foundation.
I'll also have to check out the Mineralize Charged Water. I do have the Mineralize Charged Eye Cream. That's pretty nice.
Thanks again. I appreciate it very much. Maybe us ladies out there that are a little more mature should create our own thread to address our age-related issues. That could be a lot of fun!
