MAC Retro Matte collection (September 12, 2013)

I'm guessing the retro matte formula must've changed a little causing this to happen with the retro matte formula now.
Ruby Woo is drier than my other retro mattes so I think the formula is indeed slightly different.

Well I received my new lippies. I must say that I'm very underwhelmed. I bought FOF, AFU, Dangerous, RR and Fashion Boost lip liner.
Two of the colors are so close that it's senseless that MAC released them in the same collection. Maybe I was expecting them to be as fabulous as RIRI's summer collection! Am i the only one who feels this wasy? Also, can I return them even though they've been swatched?

Actually, I think you need to raise the age limit. Nowadays, anyone under 50 is suspect!!!! Ha ha....

You should still be able to return them (assuming you ordered from MAC. If not, check the return policy of the store you ordered from. They will likely still accept returns but their process may be different). Look at your invoice...if it's MAC it should tell you about the return process. I believe it says something like "If you're not satisfied....blah blah blah". You will probably have to pay return shipping since the issue isn't a defect...you just don't like the colors.

Weirdly, I don't love a lot of the shade names for these, despite loving the formula. Some of the names sound more drugstore than MAC, and that puts me off a bit.....And now I'm wondering if half the reason I buy products is for the names/descriptions

Thank you. I was just reading their return policy online. Maybe I'll give them another shot and wear them over the next few days. Try different lip liners, etc! Everyone seems to really love them.....

I haven't been religiously following this thread so sorry if this has been asked. I received my Fixed on Drama yesterday and this is what it looks like. There is a chunk of waxy substance that seems to have slid off the side to the base. The top part has the same trail of wax. I need Erine's expert opinion (or anyone else's). Should I return it?

I received most of mine with this wax on it, and a couple were totally stuck and broken in the cap. Each one had to be tapped on a table to get the product to stay in. MAC failed me yet again...it is normal though. Normal for retro mattes.

All Fired Up is my big fave, FOF & then Dangerous for the lipsticks - Trust In Red & Fashion Boost for the liners. I have not tried on FOD yet.

Trust In Red liner is a Gorgeous old movie star glam red. LOVE LOVE it on

You ladies are making me feel bad for not liking my new lippies. I'm going home tonight and give it another go. I'd hate to send them back and regret it later once they're gone like I did with the Nudes and Metallics collection. I passed on it the first time only to regret my decision later. Trust and believe, when it restocked I got all I wanted and more.

UK site has done a restock on the liners and lipsticks except for Steady Going, Runway Hit and Fixed On Drama.

I'm after All Fired Up, Flat Out Fabulous and Fixed On Drama, which I'll get from the store on Thursday. Definitely going to check them myself or get one of them to as I don't want to end up with some looking broken or wax on them. I'm thinking about the two liners Fashion Boost and Dynamo but I have two Heroine so I don't think Fashion Boost will be worth me getting because from the swatches I've seen they look so similar but I do like Pro Longwear liners.

Can anyone compare/show pictures of Fixed On Drama with Diva if you have both please?

So, I just tried FOD ls. Its such a beautiful modern retro brownberry wine. Mine was extremely creamy smooth & went on like butter. It looks beautiful with Tease Your Tastes creme blush, then I used the Marilyn es in How to Marry with Exposed in the crease, black black thin liner with some navy pencil liner blended into the black on the top lash line.
