Yeah, I know that's how it's supposed to be used, and I typically DO use it according to the directions. But there have been a few times I was in a rush and applied my lippie too soon and I did actually like it... I just can't remember what lippies they were that I used that worked well with that application. I might as well try TTT both ways with P&P Lip and see how it turns out. Can't hurt to try! :bigthumb:  With all the sad reports of poor application I have been dreading trying TTT at all... time to just put it to the test.
When lippies are applied immediately after, it only acts as a moisturizer, so it's really just like using any wax-based moisturizer, just more $$$, which does provide benefits when using drier lipstick formulas. It doesn't provide any of the P&P qualities at all this way. (Use can use the clear brow stick this way, just an fyi). The P&P-ness of it only works if it's allowed to set and get tacky before lip products are applied.

I think I'm going to try TTT tomorrow just in case I don't like it; I won't be upset with my lipstick all day on Thanksgiving. My family always gathers at my house on Thanksgiving day, since I'm really the only one with enough room for our growing clan and knows anything about cooking! So, I'm guessing my makeup will be pretty low key that day with all the kitchen drama that will inevitably unfold. Mehr may be a good pick for me too!
I'm going back and forth on what makeup to wear on thursday :hmm:

Some ladies have suggested applying P+P, and a nude color, and then finally, applying TTT over. I tried this and it worked great! I don't find that it changes the color of TTT.

Thanks soooo much for reminding me! I DID read that but didn't really let it sink in since I didn't have TTT when I read it! TTT was a VERY last minute purchase for me because it came back in stock while I was trying to snag FOD. I'll give this method a try too!!

Me toooooo! I hate to miss the opportunity to do my face but with all the family, cooking, and clean-up I'm sure the added preparation will be overlooked! Let us know what you decide to do... I could use the motivation. I'm considering my bareminerals The Rare Find quad since it has such nice fall colors... or maybe even MAC's Bare My Soul quad... Hmmmm?

N0, i like a lot the bold lips :cheer: i look  them and look really pretty Thank you so much
You're welcome! Start with those and then we can add in some more orange tones, pinker tones and so on!
I'm sure you will come up with something fab! :cheer:
That makes sense! Guess maybe it was a RM or matte I had done that with and maybe the extra moisture made me like the application or something... Which for that, I typically always just use a Jack Black balm while doing the rest of my face for the added moisture. Guess in my hurry I inadvertently used P&P the same way!! Dooh! :silly: Me toooooo! I hate to miss the opportunity to do my face but with all the family, cooking, and clean-up I'm sure the added preparation will be overlooked! I'm definitely thinking softer lips, bold eye, what with eating and drinking (easier to touch up the lips). Glitter is a must for sure! But what colour? :hmm: so many choices!

Only 5!?  These are some great ones to start out with, and then you can build, and build, and build... If you're not afraid of bold lips... (If you are, i can make some substitutions). Nightmoth Currant Cherry Whirl Boldly Bare
Erin, do you prefer the PLW liners to the regular ones? Or do you think color matters more than formula? I'm just curious because I'm running low on many of my liners and I'm going to get some new ones, but wondering if I should invest in the PLWs as opposed to the original liners.

Not into Prince Noir?? What is this heresy?

LOL! That color was doomed from the start with me. I just don't care for burgundy and plum shades. To me, they are wanna be reds and purples; almost but not quite. And since I'm pouring my lipstick heart out, let me just say I also do not like Rebel.

Boldly Bare
Thanks for this! I have Bodly Bare from one of the previous holiday lip sets. I like that for a MLBB lipstick. I will definitely replace that one now. I know Nightmoth and Currant are a must for the fall. So I think I will actually buy these five next.

I prefer the regular ones because the colour options are better, and they aren't as dry. But there are a couple PLW liner colours that aren't available in the reg formula-what a blast (orange), morning coffee (mauve), and some of the new ones! Plus when you need your lips to last and can't touch up (certain events). But i do like wearing nightmoth, cherry, currant and a few others by themselves, and you can't do that with the PLWs. So it just kinda depends on what I'm going for (situation, look, colour), but in general, the regular liners top the PLW in my book!

BB is one that is overlooked a lot i think. Definitely a HG!

Well ordered FOF. Hope this one ships lol. It's not back ordered and showed in stock at several stores up here but my closest Nordies is 33 miles away and I'm not going on Black Friday. Of course now it shows store availability as unavailable but w the holiday that's probably why. I want a retro matte.

well, i am not very pleased with AFU. it looks reddish on me and is super dry. overall, not very flattering (it breaks my heart). now i am thinking to go for NARS CARTHAGE. can any of you help me out to guess whether it would suit me or not, as i have no options to give it a try before purchasing. it would also be helpful if anyone could provide a swatch comparing these two lippies under natural light.

It looks the same on me! I haven't used it since I purchased it. It's the only color that did not wow me from the retro mattes! I just don't care for it!

I use lip liner rather rarely - usually just when I really need my lips to last without touchups - so the PLW ones have become my major friends. They really do last like iron. The PLW liners have saved my butt many times.

Nightmoth is one of the best liners, ever, though! Plus one thing I like about the regular liners: you can sharpen them to a much finer point than the PLWs, which I really prefer, since I usually would rather liner the lips with a very fine line, if I'm only lining, rather than a heavier line I have to blend in.

For the heck of it, my 5 must have liners:

Dervish: this is my perfect lip color match, good under anything because of it - everyone should have a lip pencil that's their exact shade, imo - I also use Absolutely It PLW for the same reason, but that one adds a hint of brown, which is a shame, because I love the formula.)
Hip & Happy: this is the best color for removing excess brown from a lipstick shade. It takes all the hassle out of shades like Hot Chocolate.
Just My Type: Super dark cool brown - I'd rather use this than straight black for black lipsticks, which usually need liner. It's less harsh than black but is so cool toned, it doesn't add any red. I love it with my darkest purples as well, for the same reason.
Nightmoth: A real workhorse - goes with everything red and/or vampy. It does add red to purples and browns, though, so that's where Just My Type comes in.
High Energy PLW: For all my other reds and strong orange corals.

You can see from my list, I'm more inclined to line red, black and vampy colors, but will use a MLBB shade for anything else to add durability, rather than trying to match the lipstick itself. Plus Hip & Happy gets a TON of use, because it takes every brownish plum/mauve/rose lipstick I own out of the too-brown zone - it's the best perfecting color I own.

I line anytime I'm wearing anything other than a nude lip.
