Guerlain Spring 2014

I think it is hard to say anything before trying. But it is right that two of the color shades are very close in terms of intensity and then the other lighter shades which are also close, makes it hard to use them together. I don't know if Guerlain eye shadows could be layered but it can be an idea...
Thanks for posting!!

Wow Jenny, your review and those photos are absolutely outstanding!!! Wish I had waited for them. Next time for sure...

It's here, but I'm scared to open it. After I saw the swatches, I just wasn't as excited. I didn't realize how shimmery two of the colors were. I don't mind one, but two is overkill for me. Maybe there is something to the notion of waiting for the swatches before ordering.
I didn't realize how shimmery they would be either. I wasn't expecting the "ivory"/pink to have a frosty finish--though I expected the mint to be. I just wish the actual colors were a little bit more like how they look in the pan. Though I've been playing with it a little more--and I don't know. I may be changing my mind. It's unconventional and unexpected. I need to play with it some more. I mean a palette can be unique and different yet still should have a cohesive flow. And this one just doesn't seem to. Maybe it's just my picky artist's eye, lol.

And try it peanut! What's the worst that could happen? You don't like it and send it back. I think you should try it.

I just got the quad and love it. The mint layers beautiful over the brown shade to make the look almost duochrome. I would use the brown on the lid, berry in the crease and either the shimmery pink or mint in the tear duct and overlapping the brown on the inner 1/3 of the lid. Another way it to use one of the shimmery colors in the middle of the lid. Overall it's different but still subtle enough to be worn during the day.

Urgh. I feel even more confused. The swatches look gorgeous, but I agree with her point that I'm not sure how all four colours would work together. Of course, that also feels like a challenge, which makes me want to get it and try different looks until I find something that works. I'm silly that way.

Oh I forgot about the blushes. I didn't see them on the display at Saks. Guess I'll have to go back to check them out. Still eyeing the Dore ballz.

My quad is here! It's so pretty in person! So far I've only swatched it and haven't tried it on my eyes but I really like it! The shades are just the kinds that I like and tend to wear every day (the champagne color and the browns) so for me it works. I would definitely say these are daytime colors, so I don't mind that the 2 lighter ones are a bit more sheer. I probably wouldn't use these shades for a night out but I don't mind when a palette is sometimes only a daytime palette. I only mention that because of the two sheerer shades, I wish the mint was a bit more vibrant and minty but I still think it's pretty for a subtle daytime look

I have to admit, I am too. It looks beautiful on Temptalia. And the more I sit and play around with, the more my feelings might be changing. I don't know, I feel torn now. I can't see myself using all the colors together. But I love the formula, I think it is absolutely wonderful, with the exception of the purple shade. Though, I don't know if this palette is for everyone. I think if you want to try it, then you should get it katred. You may love it whereas I don't. I'm not usually one to go for such "unusual" eyeshadow colors, like mint. It was originally a pass for me, for a couple of reasons--the main one being that I don't necessarily think the colors as a whole flow. But that's just me.

I like the colours.. I do not like the textures too much. I would not want to work that hard or play that hard at getting something to work on me, and if I did it would have to be for a special situation.

Now I think that I want the quad. The question is whether I get the blushes too. Plus I want the sparkly "mint" gloss for whatever reason.

Jenny, I ended up sending it back. Such pretty colors, but too much shimmer for me. Back to my Ecrin 6 palettes I guess!

Oh peanut, I'm so sorry. I know how much you were looking forward to it. I hope I didn't influence you to do that. I try to keep my opinions to myself until the end of my posts. I try to be more analytical through most of it. And I would never want anyone to just go based off of my word--I mean just because one person does--or doesn't like something, doesn't mean you will, or won't like it. I always try to fine as many reviews about something as possible before I decide about a product.

OMG no!! I loved your review. It was very helpful! When I saw it I just knew I wouldn't use it as much as some of my other palettes so back it went.

I bought the quad. I like it so far, but it is not love yet. The mint seems to be a tricky color for me to work with on my skin.

I also purchased the blushes. The pink one gives barely any color, and I am uber pale at the moment. I am not sure about it yet. I like the cherry color though. It gives a very nice natural flush. What I don't like about these blushes is the texture. It feels like I am smearing lip balm on my face until it dries down, which bugs me for some reason.

Finally I ordered the sparkly "mint" gloss, but it hasn't arrived yet.

Sounds like its a pass for me for the blushes. I thought the colours are pretty but what's up with the pink one not showing up. And the texture doesn't sound pleasant. Hope you will like the gloss!

Has anyone tried the new Meteorites? I'm kinda hesitant whether to scoop an old one at NM or Bloomies or try the new one... I personally like the older packaging better.

It's now available at sephora. It's sitting on my cart

Agghh! I'll just buy this. I haven't seen any reviews about it lately.
Yep it's available online but not in-stores so we cannot try them first. Of course I can just buy and return it but I feel a bit guilty doing that with such an expensive product when there's a high chance that I won't like it
