My HH order was cancelled. So frustrating.
I think it looks fantastic! im gonna get one in store thur morning!!!
From MAC?So frustrating.
Thanks so much for the detailed review Liba! I will definitely have to check out DD since it is in the color family I can wear with ease (and LOVE). Reel Sexy is hands down my favorite of the creamsicle/orange shades Mac has been putting out in the past few years. I prefer it to Sushi Kiss because it is softer, but I also have to blot, so DD will likely be right up my alley. Thanks again! The new SR is nothing at all like my SR from In the Groove. I did get to pick the one I wanted out on that one and got one with plenty of gold and deep brick veins, so that'd make it different right there, but the new SR is more than just a paler color - it's a whole different texture and level of sheerness. Old SR is basically just a blush on me, but new SR could be a subtle blush if I layer it, or you can use it all over the whole face without looking like you put all this excessive color or sheen on there. Try before you buy is still the best policy. I know my store had a lot of stock in supply - I don't think it's going to sell out in a day - just go down there within a couple days and you should be fine. The new MSFs are very finely milled with zero glitter or sparkle - only sheen. Like I was saying, they're more subtle than the new EDSFs, and those aren't totally in your face already.![]()
aww thanks for the eloquent and enthusiastic compliment babe!!!![]()
We scooped out some CCB (in Pearl) onto a palette (just basically a piece of glass) and mixed pigment into it with a spatula, then applied normally with a brush. I recommend asking for some of the little plastic disposable spatulas they have in the store and just wash and reuse them. Or you can get fancy and buy a small palette knife at an art supply store - that will last you forever. You could mix everything together on the back of your hand, I suppose, but that'd get messy.
i LOVE LOVE LOVE Ablaze too, but DD is not really like Ablaze at all. It's a much softer color like a tangerine/apricot/coral. To me it's just like Sushi Kiss, if you took out all the white in the base and cut the pigmentation down by 30% or so - it's the soft gentle Sushi Kiss. It's also very similar to Sweet Grenadine sheen supreme - that one is a bit brighter than DD too, but has a more similar finish. DD looks so moist and creamy and youthful on the lips - it's beautiful …..and I was originally going to skip!
I can rock a solid, unblended or blotted mouth full of Ablaze, but I've got to be precise about applying it. Sushi Kiss I need to tone down by patting it on. DD is so much easier to just swipe and go. It's gorgeous!
Sounds like you should try a 188 or other skunk brush with Sakura, so that you get a very light amount on.
Sassy Moss is actually quite light - it's strong and bright so it really shows up amazingly - it's SO matte. I love it and I've got green eyes - it's totally eye brightening and doesn't compete with my eye color at all! Don't be afraid of it. Phlox Garden is amazing on green eyes too and is very similar to Resort, except it's so dense and matte and pigmented. It's also a teeny touch more purple, but just barely. They're not rated for the waterlines, but who cares - these colors are MEANT for groovy winged liner.
Both f/ls are super smooth and creamy and you can get a really detailed effect. Because they're so creamy, they're not heavy. I would NOT call them not opaque enough at all. If they were heavier and sludgier, you couldn't easily get a really fine wing. Because they're so smooth, you can always do a second layer for a high matte, strong look and you can do the second layer so that it blends perfectly into your first layer without patchiness or clumping.
These fluidlines have a strong pigmented effect that just glows. So gorgeous!!! Everyone who gets them is going to love them - just don't be afraid to rock a colored wing. They were meant for it!
Agreed. Snapdragon is just like a glaze finish on me, more pigmented and like my Bubblegum almost exactly. I think some of the swatches on blogs out there are highly misleading! These lipstick are really not all that sheer. They have some good pigmentation to them. The texture & feel of these are fabulous.

They look awesome on you
Sure do….I may order a few more backups. You don't know how long I've waited for a dupe of Bubblegum. I actually think, based on swatting them side by side, it may be the exact same color. Who knows, MAC has done some crazy things with names and different products lately (cough cough, PT and SR).Yep.
Snapdragon is really beautiful. Do you love it as much as you thought you would?![]()

Yep. Ordered on launch day and didn't hear anything from them until the cancellation notice came today. No reason given... Just "your order cannot be fulfilled". Ugh.From MAC?
