MAC A Fantasy of Flowers Collection (February 6, 2014)

I was also allowed to handpick my Perfect Topping. She pulled out all of them, and there was at least 30! And most of them were pretty nice. Not all of them had a lot of purple, but they all had beautiful veining that contained some purple bits. I must say I think I picked the best one. I'm very satisfied :eyelove:

I also picked up Phlox Garden, Rose Lily and Fleur D'Coral. I wanted Heavenly Hybrid, Snapdragon and Dreaming Dahlia too, but they were sold out by the time I got out of school

Got my hands on heavenly hybrid! Kinda pissed they wouldn't let me B2M called ahead and SA didn't know so just took a chance. DENIED lol but it was the only one that had any left in stock.

Ugh, that sucks. I BTM'd for it today. The MUA tried to say that I couldn't and I told her that she could - not special packaging, not VG. She went and got the product specialist who told her that I was right.

COUNTING THE DAYS FOR PLAYLAND! Had a great conversation with the gals in store today, as they've already played around with it and are in LOVE

. They are SUPER PSYCHED!!! Apparently the event is going to amazing too, with cotton candy and giant giraffe balloons floating about. Sounds crazy, and perfect!

All PTs 1=The one at the top was the first I received 2=Bottom left I hand picked 3=Bottom right second one received today

I'm not sure if you can see the slight variations in color. The 1st one (closest to wrist) has a slight pinky-peach color to it. The 2nd looks like the 1st just deeper. And the last has a champagne coloring with a slight pearlized pink hue (The pic does not translate that well)

On this one I just added S&G in on the side for reference.

I'll try and do before and after ones! This MA is amazing - he works mostly doing prosthetic makeup effects for film, but he fills in at MAC when they have events. The last time he worked on me, we forgot to take good photos in store so I only got some blurry ones much later on - really hard to see the amazing effects he did on my eyes, but you can see how perfect the skin is:

Fleur D'Coral looks amazing on both of you.

I went to the MAC store and Snapdragon was already sold out. There wasn't even a display of it, so I have no idea what it looks like. I didn't try Naked Bud and Heavenly Hybrid. Fleur D'Coral barely showed up on my lips even though it's a pretty color. Rose Lily looked alright, but I'm still not sure whether to go for it or not. I might need to swipe a lot in order for the color to show up on my already pink pigmented lips. Dreaming Dahlia was the most pigmented one on me and probably the best one imo. It doesn't look like Ablaze at all. The closest colors to Dreaming Dahlia would be Hibiscus and Guerlain Pamplelune (240) Shine Automatique. Hibiscus is redder, darker, and has less slip than DD. Pamplelune has shimmer, is a bit lighter, and is pinker than DD but both have the same slip and sheen, but Pamplelune is more hydrating for me while DD is neither drying or hydrating (at least for me). I'll see if I can post swatches tomorrow because the lighting in my room won't do justice. for the colors.

I may be in the minority here, but the highlight for me were the blushes and fluidlines. The green fluidline was the popular one for the MUAs and for the customers. The blushes were pigmented and look amazing, but I didn't buy any of them because I don't need blushes right now. I might regret not buying them in the near future, but for now I really don't need them. The MSFs were definitely lighter and different versions of their previous counterparts. So yeah, I saw Stereo Peach and Perfect Beige. However, both MSFs swatched nice and smooth. I remember not liking Stereo Rose back when it was in Apres Chic because it looked like metallic barbecue sauce on me, but this version is better imo despite the color discrepancy. I might go back tomorrow for Perfect Topping but I'll need to go vein hunting because the one on the display was such a Perfect Beige. -_-

What do you ladies think about the MSFs I received? I kind of think my SR could be a little better, maybe more gold. I can't decide if it's worth it to go to the counters or not. :dunno:

Both are beautiful! I had a chance to look through a bunch of PT's today from three different boxes and I would say that yours is just as nice, if not better than the ones I saw! Your stereo rose also looks like the ones I saw in store. If you want more gold, you could try the counter, but this years version definitely has a lot less gold than before, so it could be tricky trying to find one!

Listen - when Erine1881 painted the upcoming Playland collection as a canvas awash in "QUITE CUTE ON CRACK!" and by extension...so not your mother's prom palette- i just about FAINTED!

And when MACina mentioned perhaps hits of a purple-tinged QuickSizzle might be a nice addition- I was forced to bring out the BIG GUNS- ( imagine BIG BANG'S Leonard taking an exaggerated hit off of his inhaler)- in my case my VICK'S inhaler LMAOROTF!!!! Imagine if you will bolts of VIBRANT SHANTUNG unrolling in a sea of BUDDING LOVE crushing up against LAZY day and a Cracked out QUITE CUTE!! DId someone just yell HAPPY FREAKIN" BIRTHDAY?????

On a different note, all of the FoF beauties are exactly as you described! I filled in the gals about the MSF debacle, as none of them had the old products for comparison. That said, the new ones are definitely lovely, and it took all of my focused energy not to get the new stereo rose. I did pick up some other things though---oopsie! And Fleur d'Coral is peachy goodness. Thanks again for all of the fantastic and detailed reviews!

really? I have never been denied a B2M even in a new collection, that's not right,

.... you must have had someone new, go back to the manager and get another..

when all about orange came out I got flamingo and sushi kiss, still have them, they keep the box and put b2m on the bottom, sure don't know why you were denied...

plus these are ALL still available at Nordstrom, Macy's Bloomingdales and Belk's..only sold out at mac online
