So after all was said and done I had decided to return my PT's ( one I bought and replacement) you have to send both back for a refund. Even though the PT's I received were pretty I just didn't need a beige highlighter as I knew i'd not use it. So I called MAC to return them and purchased snapdragon and rose Lily in it's place. Both lipsticks arrived and I love them both... But today out of nowhere I get a package from MAC. This is what was inside...

What? Why? Weird... So I called them and them lady laughed and said she had no idea why I was sent 3. I wasn't charged for them and she said to keep them as she didn't even know how to process them as they weren't paid for. She said they would just damage them out if I returned them. They are totally different from what I had last time and swatch a light peachy color, not beige. Here is a pic of an open one...

Other strange things have happened today but this was the funniest. I really really like the new ones that I have received but feel guilty they weren't paid for. Pretty much paid MAC $30 and got 3 MSF's and 2 lipsticks. This is not helping in my low buy department. Lol Maybe I can swap one for a studio rose somewhere.
You're so lucky! Don't feel guilty, I wouldn't have minded them for free, hehe & you asked the lady! Enjoy :)

Jumping in on the oil discussion because I'm just starting to test the waters with a few different oils for my skin. Coconut oil is unfortunately not on my list because I can't stand the smell of coconut! If anyone has any other oil suggestions though, I'll happily add them to my "to try" list.

On topic, I have used my Lily White pigment a different way almost every day since I got it. Seriously in love!

I used oil for my nighttime moisturizing from my 20's up to my mid-40's and I still use it now when my skin is feeling sensitive. I've always used Clarins sandalwood oil (Huile Santal). The sandalwood soothes sensitivity and redness and also has aromatherapy properties - it always helps me calm down and fall asleep. This is a classic product, imo. I'm pretty sure it's been continuously manufactured since the beginnings of Clarins. The only line that does herbal/floral oils better than this is Darphin, which is much more expensive and harder to find. They have many different ones, though, so you can find something to suit your very exact skin needs.

Pure coconut or avocado oil is great for the body. Call me a princess if you will, but for the face, I find them rather heavy and prefer an oil that will absorb faster, plus I'd rather go for an oil that uses botanical or other aromatherapy essences along with the oil, for the more luxurious feeling and the additional healing properties. You could probably make some of your own with the right ingredients!

Singer82, since you were asking and we're on the subject, I spent decades only cleaning my face with 1 product: Clarins cream makeup remover. I still use it every single night, whether I'm wearing makeup or not. You warm it up in your hands, pat it on with light suction cup moves and then only use cool water to remove if necessary. I've tried MAC cream wash, but it's much harsher than Clarins (Shiseido made something a little more foaming/lathering and that was also much harsher) and there's nothing much else like it nowadays. It's one of those old fashioned style products that all the tech in the world can't improve on. I can see how using pure solid coconut oil would be more comparable than anything else, since it won't have foaming agents and will be very moisturizing. It'll certainly be more affordable. It'll be missing the extra botanicals, that do a lot of additional soothing and nourishing, but you could supplement the coconut with other things, like compresses made from herbal teas.

Nowadays, I do use an active cleanser (Rodial) in the morning with my Clarisonic (I ONLY use the Clarisonic in the morning, never at night - it's too stimulating for nighttime). If I miss my morning time to care for my skin, I will skip the active cleanser entirely. I wouldn't want to use it past the afternoon, which is the time you need to start relaxing your skin as the day winds down. I do not like makeup wipes at all. They're too harsh. I only use them in a pinch if I'm away from home and can't carry much with me.

I'm here to big up coconut and avocado oil. I use them both in my hair as a pre poo hot oil treatment along with grape seed oil and Jamaican black castor oil. Sometimes olive oil, too, depending on how I feel.

They just want to get rid of those frikkin things already, no matter how.  It was a MSF blessing, enjoy them! I wouldn't mind getting some for free either. :amused:

Thanks ladies. I just thought it was the funniest thing. My hubby shipped them back off originally so he thinks they are haunted as they keep multiplying lol. It is really odd that it's almost an entirely different shade too. I am new to msf's with veining but like the others said I'd definitely go in person as I've seen how different it makes them. ... My others swatches almost identical to msf medium plus, these were a light peachy shade with a subtle glow. I really like it and in happy they messed up lol

I went to Macy's today and I love what my girl did! First she used the Prep and Prime CC in Recharge on certain parts of my face, mixed with a bit of Studio Fix Fluid and lightly dusted Illuminate over that. She did an ombre liner using the green pinwheel and Sassy Moss, on my cheeks she applied Petal Power (lightly) with some Perfect Topping over that. On the lips I'm wearing Fleur d'Coral. Pardon my cheesy smile but I really loved what she did :heart2:

Wow! Everyone looks so pretty in their stuff. I decided to skip this collection but then...it was my bday on feb. 9 and my hubby got me rose lily just because my 2 daughters are named sophia rose and Emma lily. So I thought that was pretty sweet. I really like the subtle color too. Now I'm interested in trying out the cc stuff but I really need a good face moisturizer for night time. My hubby gave me the omorovicza illuminating moisturizer and I love it! Any recommendations for a good moisturizer for night for dry skin?

Thank you! Another year older and my skin is changing like crazy. Used to be oily, now it's dry with dry, flaky patches. Not good for my self esteem, lol
My skin is doing this drying out but breaking out at the same time thing and I don't understand it. My lips are drier than they've been before too. It's strange. I think I might need a new moisturizer.

Thank you for the suggestions, ladies!! I just got a sample of argan oil to try, so I'll start there. I recently had someone tell me about the evening primrose oil too. It was this woman I met whose skin looked amazing and she was around 50 years old. I was asking her what her secret is because I certainly want my skin to look that fabulous when I'm 50! She told me she made some sort of concoction using the primrose oil and a few other ingredients. I had her write it all down for me, then life got in the way and I forgot all about it until this discussion came up in the forum! I must still have it somewhere...

I will definitely check out the Clarins sandalwood oil too. I've heard great things about their skincare but always felt it was a bit out of my price range. Anything that's good for sensitive skin is something I'm willing to try though. My skin is so unpredictable that I'm always very nervous to try new skincare products, but I'm trying to start just doing patch tests first because I really want to improve my skin. It's not the worst, but I tend to get a breakout now and then where it's just one or two big honkers that look more like bug bites than zits. I also suffer from eczema, which used to stay mostly on my legs but this winter has moved to my neck and chest and sometimes even around my jawline. And I feel like my skin just doesn't have a nice glow when I'm not faking it with makeup. So yeah, something's gotta change! Looking forward to trying all of these and hoping my skin agrees with one of them.

ChosenOne: I use a lot of beauty oils on my face. They moisturize so well. Good ones absorb fast and don't feel "oily" at all. A good one to start with is Josie Maran's trial size argan oil at Sephora. It's $15 so it's low-investment. It actually helps unclog pores, brighten, and moisturize. The best I've used is Sjal. Rodin is nice but the smell is off-putting. Tatcha's is heavenly but $$$$$$$$.
This is the one I just got a sample of! I actually got a sample of the "light" version. Have you tried both the regular and the light version? I'm curious if there's much of a difference.

Sorry to be off topic. Is there a thread for oils? I never noticed one, so maybe I should make one today since I'm so interested in talking about them

I've only used the Light. I've read so many reviews, and believe that the "light" is just as effective but a more pleasant texture. Enjoy!

Same here! I don't know what's happening? Maybe the harsh winter this year, but my skin is crazy dry and breaking out and I've never suffered from acne before. I'm hoping the new daytime moisturizer I switched to will help but I need something for night. When I wake up in the morning my face feels so dry and tight!

I have both. I'm obsessed with Josie Marans Argan oil line. The light version is just more light weight than the regular. They both perform the same though.

I love the cashmere heads for the clarisonic. They feel like they get deeper than the old brushes without scrubbing my face raw. Also on the oil front, Laura Mercier used to have a whole line of cleansers that were oil. They were incredible. Now they condensed them down into just one, which I haven't tried. It's worth a try if you're looking for an oil cleaner.
