Rose Lily above- very opaque for a Lustre, I love it!

Comparison swatches

Top - Real Doll (Barbie Collection)
Middle- Rose Lily
Bottom- Snob

I actually prefer Rose Lily to Real Doll which is also gorgeous but since Real Doll was made in 2006 it needs to be replaced as it does not smell great. I think Rose Lily is the closest MAC lippie to Real Doll I have ever seen.

Glad I backed up Rose Lily, it will be used alot!!
NIce lips!!! and i still use lipglass from 06 but it still smells ok. I love Rose Lily and Snob. I been thru three Snobs so far.

I wanna give in to ordering rose lily but I feel like it's too similar to lovelorn which is my HG as far as pink lipstick goes . has anyone swatched the two together ?

If I had to pick a favorite lipstick from this collection, it'd have to be Rose Lilly. 'Might not be the most unique color, but it's just the right mix to suit me and a great texture for dressing up or down. Steady Going and Raspberry Swirl are the only other two pale Barbie pinks that really work flawlessly on me, but they're in formulas that are much more in your face, so the rest of my makeup has to be carefully considered with them….usually can only do black winged liner with 'em and the right hairstyle. RL is a lot more forgiving and eye-makeup friendly. Still, I'm not going to back it up. It's mainly a springtime-only color for me and I think we can all agree MAC will do more like this one going forward.

Today, I think I'll bust out Dreaming Dahlia for the first full day. That's a beautiful color plus texture combo too!

Returning stereo rose this color is not woc friendly with it not being as dark as the first release. Def a waste of money. I let the swatch fool me but I should have remembered it would not come off on my cheeks that pigmented. So, back to MAC I go. Sad sad day. Absolutely nothing from this collection lol

I definitely understand. That was the reason why I got the Apres Chic collection one from a blog sale. I went to the MAC store to look at the Stereo Rose from FOF collection. It is definitely lighter than the previous. I am sorry that didn't work out for you.

Thank you so much!!! It's actually the one from Apres Chic collection that I bought from a blog sale before seeing the FOF one.
well it sure works! did new SR make you look ashy or just not show up?

I swear, I'm going to have to organize selling my old In the Groove SR, because that one is just not that fabulous on me compared to the new one. My spidey sense is telling me we're going to see an MSF that isn't called Stereo Rose that is going to wind up looking a lot more like old SR before too long, just to confuse people even more :D

It's my first time wearing it. The new SR looked lighter than the previous. Also, I heard many complaints about how it looked on WOC. I was scared to get the new SR, so I purchased the Apres Chic one from a blog sale before I tried the new one in store. It was too ashy looking on me. I am glad I got right one after all lol.

Good! Glad to hear it!

I have fair skin, but I also like MSFs that are very subtle on me, rather than the ones I can only use as a blush, so the new SR is SOOOO much better, like night and day for me. I'm always really curious to see what formulas are too pale/light for WOC and give that bad ghostly look, versus which products are just really sheer and don't show up with a lot of color, so thanks for sharing your experiences. You know me - I'm always going to put in a good word for a powder that gives a barely there look, because I love the natural glow look, but even I have tried powders that make me look ashy, because they're too cool for me, even if my skin is light (I just keep getting more NC as I get older, that's for sure). Heck, even some darker colored MSFs were too cool toned for me and looked wrong - not because they were too dark, but they were the wrong dark. Since I get to see products early a lot of the time and don't always get to play around with them with some of the WOC MAs, if they're not working that day, I try to make some educated guesses about what might be ashy vs. just sheer but not ashy, so all of your feedback definitely is a big help for me!! Thanks, Lady D!!!
