I saw a few pieces from this collection today too, along with Playland.

I have to go to bed, so I'll have to talk more tomorrow. Just saw the red and pink lippies, the red/coral nail polish, and the lip and eye pencils - the blushes and rest of lippies and polishes weren't in yet.

The packaging is just like that heavy metal style like in Gareth Pugh. This is good and bad - good because it feels really good in the hand, but bad because it's heavy and will get annoying to lug around in your purse. The Gareth Pugh lipstick packaging actually was lighter and more plastic feeling than the lippies here, which feel solid and heavy and metal. The anodized rainbow coloring is gorgeous. Looks great in person, very striking.

The polish was way better than the norm with MAC - one coat and you're done, perfectly self-leveling and dried really fast with lots of glossy shine. Not the most unique color, but nicer than just a straight red or coral. The packaging of the bottle was really WOW, but no point in buying it for that. I'll probably hold off, but it's not a boring color - it's very high fashion sophisticate.

The red lipstick Mangrove was also the same sort of thing - yes it's a warm, matte red, but it's got subtle touches that make it much more high fashion than the norm. It's warm and very pigmented and matte, BUT it's got this slightly dull aspect to the color that screams RUNWAY. It's bright and dull at the same time, rather than just being cutesy-poo bright. Again, very tempting but it's still red. The difference it has is super subtle. If you're wearing it, I think people will instinctively know it's not the same old same old, but won't know quite why. It's a very sly statement red. I am sure everyone has a near dupe in their stash and then the question is, do you want to pay what this costs for such a subtle difference, no matter how unique?

The pink satin lipstick was totally WTF. Have you ever seen a satin that applies sheer like a lustre????? This was so bizarre. It's not a particularly unique pink either - it's close to Be Fabulous Mineralize lipstick or maybe Rose Lilly or Fearless patent polish - light blue pink. We've been there. It wasn't a satin like Just a Bite - it was just weird - it acted exactly like a buildable lustre.

I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the collection and those blushes. They will be in that heavy packaging, so they won't be so great for on the go, but by the way things are looking, they will be very high quality. This is 100% a MAC couture collection.

I think they like to torture us. I seriously picture all the corporate execs sitting in an office laughing while watching monitors of their Customer Services reps sweating on the phones with complaining customers! Then each one pops out and gives different sales reps each different responses, just as an added kick in the pants! It's like the big wigs' own personal PUNKED! I wish hemorrhoids on them all.
LOL! >.< I think that's exactly what they do! It's their own little kicks I swear it is and we can swear up and down that we will boycott MAC if they don't get their shiz together ...but they know we won't :( LOL

Oh yeah. I'm getting the orangey blush. I like the pink one also, but I can only afford one of these beauties. If the orangey one is sold out before I can get my hands on it I will get the other. As long as I get one of them I will be happy.
Ditto here babes. I'm not gonna front I gotta choose my items. I kinda wanted mangrove but idk man that last swatch threw me off. I almost bought if off a girl on IG but since it didn't have the box I didn't even risk it. Orange blush it is and onto the next!

I can't deal with T's anti-MAC. Her readers are bad too. It seems that most MAC stuff gets a bad grade. It's pretty clear that some blogs have brand preferences (which is normal) so you have to pick the ones you want to read based on your makeup love. And like a lot of you I love a lot of stuff that get bad reviews on blogs (any of them, really). I really don't want to come off as negative. It's just I agree so much with a lot of the recent comments on this thread and I had to say something. MAC isn't perfect, but it does seem that a lot of people are out for them right now.
It freaked me out to go to T'S blog the other day & see how she's showcasing MAC ESs by colors...I'm like all the sudden you are giving MAC some love...to get back on their good graces, perhaps? Is this because MAC no longer sends you stuff to preview & you actually have to buy some stuff from them lately? Was that mean? I just feel like it's very clear she no longer likes the majority of MAC's stuff & that's fine but I feel like she doesn't give it a fair shot. If you are reviewing an item you need to take it for what it is & give your opinion solely based on the product itself. You can't start a review thinking about how it compares to Tom Ford, Guerlain or Givenchy 's LSs... Now there are certain bloggers who did a lot of videos (I wouldn't know currently b/c I haven't watched tutorials or haul videos in the longest) but one person said a product name every 2 min. when doing a tutorial. After my second or third tutorial I was like hell to the no & I haven't gone back since. I also don't like their attitude. It just exudes I'm so perfect & you clearly are not because you don't have ____ & ____ and they're too prissy, primmadonna ish for me. Just my opinion. I just don't like when I'm watching something to see how they do a look & the brand is thrown in my face from start to finish. Okay. Sorry for the vent...

Soft Ochre looks pretty yellow. I'm very pink toned, even Painterly pulls warm beige on me, so I doubt Soft Ochre would be a good match. If I can check it out in person I'll try it, though :)
One of my girls said that Soft Ochre is good to use with pinks.
