MAC Playland Collection - April 7, 2014

Yay for more swatches! I actually like all of the lipglasses, though some would definitely not work on pale, cool me. They are all pretty! I am avoiding any further lipglass purchases like the plague, though.

Wittling my list down, down some more.

I thought I was going to skip this collection until I saw Temptalia's swatches! I most definitely want Toying Around now! Lol! And I kind of want Playland cause it's different...or that could just be the lipstick hoarder inside of me trying to enable lol...really hoping it comes out the 10th!

I think I can officially say I'm skipping this one.

After seeing the swatches, this is most certainly a skip. First for me in a while.

Any opinions on how flattering TA and SE will look on NC30-35 skintones?? I can usually wear corals and oranges pretty well but I have troubles with pinks, particularly cooler toned pinks like Snob and Saint Germaine....I really like the looks of both but worry that I won't be able to wear them well and have no access to a MAC counter or store to swatch or see them in person....

TA and HGL look beautiful in Ts swatches. Although, I must remember that her lip swatches ALWAYS look different on me. But from other swatches and Liba I'm totally excited for my two lippies. I was watching ru pauls drag race and they were wearing these bright glossy lips. Got me all giddy for these. Made me really want a gloss now though lol

I want Red Ballon and I still don’t know about Toying around. I have the Impassioned lip gloss and only tried it on once. I am going to try it on again and see if it is something that might interest me. If Impassioned lip gloss does nothing for me then I’m only going to get Red Ballon. I really hope that Red Ballon is not that close to Girl About Town. I tried Girl About Town on before inside the Mac store and it was a bit too much. I left it there.

I'm not Debbs, but they are all fussy worn by themselves. There are way better glosses out there for solo wear.

They look amazing over the lipsticks, though, and look equally fantastic over a lip pencil (I tried Bright Side and Carousel over In Synch and they were very cute). They blot down all right too, with some pigmentation, but not mega stain. If you normally use a lip pencil or lipstick under your gloss, these are worth a look if you don't have many pastel glosses already.

No way in the universe would I say to buy these online.

They won't completely stampede out of the store or off the site later, so you'll have time to see them in person or at least plenty of people's photos and opinions before buying.

No... not at all. I often only purchase 1 item from a collection. Honestly, no collection has ever WOW-ed me to that degree.

Sadly, to many of the 'collection' colors are dupable or (for myself) tolerably substituted by an item in the permanent line.

Does anyone think Playland would layer well over dark vampy shades, like deep reds and plums? If so, I think the combo could be stunning.
