hahahaha i love it. i can relate. in highschool there was one guy who tortured me endlessly. called me a fat dyke, marilyn manson lesbian, said he was gonna beat me up, jus everything mean u can think of. he had a group of friends that followed him. when i was 20 i had gotten skinny, learned how to do makeup, and was working at the club. im on stage and there that group of guys comes up. they were all tipping good and wanting dances after i got off stage. so i went over and told them who i was and the main jerk kept saying im sorry u look great now tho and they invited me to there party later. i ignored them and for hours the biggest jerk was in front every time i was on stage and tipped me a 20, i took all his tips but ignored him the rest of the night. hahahahaha!!! I took all his money and totally got my sweet revenge. it felt so damn good i tell u that.
You Rock, Kristin! It's so wrong for people to pick on someone for things that the person can't change (their looks, their name, etc.). Those things don't tell you anything about what kind of person someone is. That boy made fun of me because of the shape of my butt. Like I could change that! When you're that age you're so self-conscious, too. For years I wore shirts that covered my butt. Ugh. Like the guy who tormented you, this guy had lots of "friends". I think they were afraid of him, too, so they all went along with him. I am so glad that happened with you. It makes me smile just to think of that. :yahoo:

that is super mean. but you sound awesome!! i agree...  i really like karen from makeup and beauty blog.... i don't always find her swatches helpful (i do like temptalia's swatches and the fact that she covers everything SO thoroughly), but i think she seems like a really fun person, and the way she presents products makes them really interesting to me. lately i have also really liked gh0stparties too. she posted once on reddit (or someone posted her pic) when i was on there a lot, and i stumbled onto her blog later. she seems pretty nice and honest as well. i tried to do the affiliates thing in my blog but i feel so mean and deceitful doing it.  also: i feel bad that i brought guru gossip up. i figured everyone knew about it
I love Karen too. Her stuff isn't always the most helpful, but damn she brightens my day. Her stories, themes, pictures. That girl is a ray of sunshine.

I had a fashion/ my paintings blog and one day someone called me a fat goth with f'ed up teeth and said I should smile more. My readers jumped on them, but blogging never felt the same. I wasn't in black (so why goth?) and I was smiling. They just kept talking about how I was a miserable person who shouldn't ever blog. They even insulted my artwork.
ass wipes!!!! No happy self content person would go online, read a blog, think enough about it and your looks, and then proceed to try to destroy your character!!!! First off you are always smiling in your pics on here, second off, you are a lovely lady inside and out. And lets see there art huh?? yeah i bet they dont even have a artistic bone in there waste of a body. Karma is real and believe it, they will get there come uppins in life. No one escapes the ripples they send out into the world. We all chose what kind of person we want to be, and they made the choice to be a jerk.

Those insulting sound like the miserable ones.
And if there are two things that really make me mad its someone commenting on someones weight or teeth.
You have a whole forum who thinks you're gorgeous!
Eff damn people.

ps- burgh like pittsburgh?! my family lives out there!!! fave city, hands down
Yes, Pittsburgh! It definitely has a lot of character, this city. I've also lived in Atlanta and Southern California, and honestly I really wish that I could afford to move back to Cali. The weather here sucks. But it's my hometown so I'll always have love for it. Nice people and a great creative community, along with the sports teams.

I know i love Karen, she seems like a person who would be super fun to hang out with. Her sense of humor tickles my funny bone. And i love shes kind of a nerd like me, taking pics of random things, and making up funny scenarios. I always feel that she is being sincere too.

Nightly i have nightmares im back in school. seriously in my waking life im ok with it now, but in my dreams i go over it every night in some way. I have found that a lot of us that were outcasts turned out to be the artistic and well read ones. I spent all my time making sculptures and paintings, reading non stop, and the few friends i had were real and good ppl. Always felt that me being different let me know who wasnt a good person as they would make themselves known. Easy way to weed out the ones you wouldnt want in your life. The girls who would make fun of me for dyed hair and capes fishnets and corsets would approach me alone in the bathroom and say i really admire u do what u want and dont listen to what anyone says, then later laugh when there leader made jokes about me. There are leaders and followers in life.

the greatest successes i have had in my academic and professional (which is also academic/teaching) careers have come from just doing me. make yourself a dfferent category, so you don't feel pressured by competition or others' opinions :)

it was worse for me as a younger kid. i was actually asked 'are you albino?' and then some other kid would say 'she doesn't have red eyes!'
to be honest, i don't think i am, but i am very pale and have clear lashes and brows. it hurt a lot.
furthermore- what 7 year olds know what albino is?

and you have kennywood :) hahah. i was at the park only once, i don't remember much.

Idiots! There are people who just post mean things randomly, it seems. I don't understand it. What do they get out of that? It is hard to to put pictures of yourself for the world to see, and then you get those kind of jerks. I enjoy looking at the way different people use make-up and how different one thing can look on different people. Like Kristin said, it's our expression of who we want to be on any given day. And to criticize your artwork? They obviously are idiots, someone's art is also an expression of their self in many ways. I feel better now about the Instagram comment I got this weekend from a total stranger calling me an "ugly ass old woman." I notice that the people who write stuff like that always have private accounts and never use their real name. Incidentally, I'd love to see your artwork. I love art.

I can totally relate to the comments about big boobs. I started puberty when I was 10 and with that came the growth spurt on my chest. I was wearing a D cup by the time I was 11 and I was only 5 foot at 100 pounds, so they were very noticeable. Pretty much everyone accused me of stuffing my bras and I got a lot of unwanted attention from the boys.

i know right, and old men. I used to have to run and hide cuz old men would harrass me so bad. I almost got raped outside a festival at dusk by a drunk old man cuz he was following me talking about my nice potatoes and i need to share the goods gross!!!! I was 13. Like it isnt hard enough waking up one day with hair, acne, and these things on your chest that hurt.
