I think she meant they should of put more than one option in the packaging and released it. I get that the colours were supposedly all chosen by Angelina and it is more a collector release than anything, but geez there aren't just Angie toned Disney collectors out there.

Yes that is what I meant lol I feel like sculpting should have been one of the main focuses of the collection since everyone knows Maleficent for her intense cheeks/chin.

Is this collection bright, exciting, and original? No, not really. However, it is a cohesive collection of wearable colors that seems to represent the movie and character well, so I'm not complaining.

I am admittedly a bitch so I see people whining on FB and if I were MAC I would be like ok, new colors + Special Packaging = WAITING ROOM. They have new colors with special packaging and no stock or repromotes of wearable colors and lots of stock. The common thread is people always bitch. It seems like they can't win, they have stock, even Carbon is not a dud in this quad but yup still whiners.

Thanks Girl. i have Shale, Brown Script, Soft Brown and now Haux in my cart.
Don't forget saddle and uninterrupted!
Just the BP for me.. I went to order sculpt in the pro pan but they are on backorder. I'm guessing they just popped all the pans into the Maleficent packaging :haha:
:werd:
You know what, I'm skipping the lippy. I like it, but I'd rather spend the money elsewhere. Plus I just ordered Glam and I don't need to be ordering another red only a day later. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Good for you girl! Stay strong!
I don't think it's that as much as I think people are just blah over the whole collection, so it is't selling out so fast. Watch, when the Osbournes collection comes out, it will sell out in the blink of an eye
Exactly! People aren't playing into MAC's trickery. They aren't falling for the "let's put all the perm stuff in LE packaging and see if they fall for it" game. They know what's up!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in their new purchases, that's always part of the fun for me even if I am skipping a collection. Seeing everyone excited about their new things. I hope everyone loves all that they get and that it works for them.

From MAC's FB page "all the colors in this collection was actually picked by Ms. Jolie herself so that's mainly why its neutral. Also the packaging is a collab with the movie so mac really didn't have a say in the visual for it. This is what I was informed by from my MAC resident trainer".
wait she picked the colors? I thought the make up artists did? http://news.instyle.com/2014/05/01/mac-maleficent-makeup-collection/ I think it would make more sense the make up artists did since they were doing the makeup.... I can't find the post/comment you're speaking of.

Also, I know this wasn't a very exciting release.... but I'm surprised nothing sold out yet. I bet the people who bought on ebay with premium are feeling ripped off.

I am too, but it seems products are lasting a bit longer than they used to lately so maybe MAC got the memo and started producing higher quantities for it's LE collections.

I really hope that's the case anyway and good for them if they did in fact do that, takes some of the stress out of it.

I don't think that's the case.. but it might be. The quantities have not changed, in fact they were lowered -- the demand is sadly absent as compared from years before. Too, the actual creative direction is somehow "off".

The fact that Angelina had her say so in the creative process for the look she wanted in her collaboration is only reflective on her klout in the industry.

The macro picture, economics again, has deteriorated -- the middle class in the US is making less $$ than years prior... obviously, this takes it's toll. You can see we now have a booming "Low Buy" and "swap" threads which are ever growing and have more subscribers.

I stuck to my guns. Only the lipstick and BP.

Russian Red was my first thing from mac too. Thanks to my oldest friend who bought me it during a rough time years ago.
She doesn't know what a beast she created. Lol.

I may have too many reds to count now. And LD and SC are my HGs now. But RR forever has my heart.

I couldn't agree more with this. I work for a 'higher end' skincare brand and we are experiencing the same thing. The deterioration of the middle class and even upper-middle class is leaving a lot of industries that aren't 'essentials' struggling. Cosmetics and skincare fall into those categories.

Holding strong on my skipping this collection. Although the MAC collector in me keeps saying to at least get something just for the LE packaging. So bad! LOL
