Probably something to do with the cost of the pigments. Could be they wanted a display of a certain size too, because even details like that are taken into account.

I had no intention of buying anything from this collection until MAC sent out their email today and then BOOM I am now the proud owner of three new eyeshadows and one lippie! I am actually pretty excited about them though: Artificial Earth, Stony, Natural Wilderness and Icon.

I'm less likely to buy a pre made quad myself. I've done it but I've also depotted those quads to put in a bigger one lol.

Can't speak for anyone else but I tend to avoid pre made quads for a few reasons. Quality of shadows have been hit or miss a lot in the past versus singles. Plus I'm more apt to end up depotting the quad anyway to put in a larger palette. Not to mention 4 single pots gets you that much closer to the back2mac requirement lol.
