Gunner is everything I hoped Punk Couture would be.

Plus, it's a fantastic formula - easy to apply, doesn't get patchy, doesn't change color after application.

Now the only purple lipstick color I crave is something like Gunner but about 35% lighter, but not too bright! Maybe also one like Potent Fig but in an easy to use formula.

It's beautiful.

I also loved Stunner, even though I've got enough red to last me forever. Wasn't into Runner - too murky looking on me.
Thank you, liba!!! Glad Gunner is a great color with easy application.
I would also love for a color lighter, but blue based as well.

As requested. Swatches of Gunner vs Punk Couture. I'm NC50 for reference.

Thank you for posting these! They are very accurate!!!! I'll only add that of course, they don't look as glossy in person, of course (dumb cameras!) On my skin tone (NC15), Punk Couture goes quite a bit darker, but Gunner looks exactly like your photo on me. Next up, MAC - make Gunner perm, you goofballs!!!

Thanks Pretty Honeybee!!! You're going to flip when you try them on.

Stunner is very blue based and vibrant - it's going to look very bright on darker skin tones for sure. Out of all the blue based reds from MAC this season, I'd say Stunner is the most vibrant and blue based, without leaning pink, while Salon Rouge is the classiest and Frank-n-Furter is the most muted. They're all great, but yeah they are all blue reds. I didn't buy Salon Rouge at first, because I felt it was so close to FnF, which I'd JUST bought, I couldn't justify it, even though I felt it was more jewel like. I did buy Stunner, because it was just so tempting when I tried it on, I couldn't resist. I think I will break down and get SR too, because for my taste, it's the richest and most complex of the three, but they are all fabulous and now I have WAAAAAAAYYYYYY too many red lipsticks to live, lol.

Just on a side note, I still think Strange Journey is the #1 most unusual and unique of all the reds MAC came out with this fall (which is saying a lot!!!) and the most modern. I also think 5 Alarm will turn out to be the best one for all year round use, because of its softness and slight sheerness. Sparks of Romance was the biggest missed opportunity, only because I wish it had been even more metallic and with a lot more glitter bits - if you're going that way, you might as well go big or go home, imo. I'm wearing it today anyways hahaha.

YES... But I don't see that happening for some reason, unless MAC by request. I didn't buy SR as its related to FNF (which I happily own) and I just couldn't justify having both SR and FNF without my stepmum saying something when she swatches my lipsticks and decides on which one she will wear for the Christmas party

Right?! As if they ever will. Lol I know I'm still trying to learn how to model lip swatches better for the forum. It's so odd seeing my lips online too.

I'd love to see your FNF and SR swatches (if you have)

Can this be for Gunner AND Stunner? Because there is no perm dupe for a red that looks as deep and GORGEOUS on so many skin tones.

Gunner is a unique colour in its own right--MAC needs more of those too! Make those two perm, and you've covered both the "classic" and "edgy" target markets.

It's not MAC, but Kontrol by Illamasqua is a muted blue-violet with a slight grey cast.

Kontrol is just one amazing lipstick, I do recommend it. As I said in a previous post on this thread, Gunner is MAC's version to Kontrol... Might even save me going back to illamasqua to replace my Kontrol

Gunner is the MAC purple to end all MAC purples, and Kontrol is Illamasqua's take which is a tad more theatrical-looking compared to MAC's sleek yet in-your-face approach. I say both are worth having.

I'm not sure who started that Kinky was a dupe for Stunner, but they either don't know color or they have bad lighting. Honestly, I NEVER believe the whole dupe thing. I can tell the color difference & the shades always look different on me than what someone says is a dupe. You can see below that they are nothing alike
ohboy.gif

Stunner is a fuchsia based red. Its beautiful on!

Kinky - left, Stunner - right
