I dyed my hair last night and I thought about putting a straighter on it. Would that be safe?

What all color combinations can I use? I'm fresh out of ideas. (I don't use mac, I use like Walmart brand stuff)

I used to be blonde and I can't afford a salon so I've died my hair. It's like a reddish color and my natural hair color is a bit darker. and I've tried to dye it lighter but the color doesn't change. and My mom is good at hair dressing and can do things good and I'm thinking about getting it...
