I actually did a live chat over the 187 vs. 188. The 188 is definately smaller than the 187. The top of the bristles on the 188 is about the size of a quarter. The 188 is about 6 5/8" from base to bristle tip. But other than the actual brush head size, they are basically the same. I have the 188 and love it! HTHS!
