2007 postings

So who else is waiting for the first round of 2007 postings, either for themselves or for their partners?

DH is finishing his mandatory shore time, so I'm sure he's being posted back to a mine warfare ship in Jan. I don't know if he's going to be a second to a Chief or WO, or if he's going to be a PO charge. Either way, the mine ships aren't bad - they only do 12-16 weeks away with four weeks home.

We are moving from California to Virginia in '07. My husband will be leaving school (again) and putting his new Masters degree to work at USMCHQ in DC or Command in Quantico, VA. Either way, I am SO ready to not live in Monterey anymore LOL
The only downside is that we return to deployable status. So I'm crossing my fingers we can dodge it for three years and then I can convince my husband to get out. We'll see...

Is VA nice? We were offered a chance to do a sailor loan/swap next year with the USN and DH swapping into an instruction billet at Norfolk, but he hasn't said yes or no to it yet.

Virginia is very nice. I like Norfolk a lot. The only drawback is that it can get a little busy traffic-wise, but I love the area.

Virginia is a nice place. Not to mention your not far from Wash. DC and NYC. Summer's Are very Muggy.
