A brush question

I recently purchased this really nice foundation brush by Lancome. How often should I wash make up brushes. I want to keep it looking new as long as possible.

I usually wash all my makeup brushes once a week and that seems to keep them in good condition.

I wash anything that I use on my eyes everyday (or after every use) so that my colours don't get muddy, and my face brushes once or twice a week because my foundation doesn't change and I have three cheek brushes (one for my highlighter, blush and then a blender which I wash a little more often). I also clean them in the morning once I'm done my face (inless I'm in a huge rush) because that way they'll be dry if I want to change my face for the night.
