I have my 3rd Key interview tomorrow. I'm terribly nervous. This position would totally change my life (I'm going through a lot of personal stuff & the $ that a full time job would bring would be amazing...not to mention how it will help further my career and all).

So yeah, anyone ever been though a 3rd Key interview before? Any tips/tricks/hints/ideas?

And I need to go with my face BEAT...it's at my counter, but I want to show the manager how badly I want this (I've been busting my ass since I heard the position was going to open up)...so yeah, anyone have any suggestions of how I should wear my makeup? I'm trying to decide between a Beauty Marked/Phloof smokey eye or something green (greens are kinda my signature look) or something bright like Naked Lunch, Stars & Rockets & Freshwater...

Any advice would be welcomed a ton!

I wish I had advice but I just really want to wish you luck. I'm sure they see how amazing you are and what a great worker you are. I think you should just really express how bad you want it and how much you love the company and point out all of your strong points. Go get em

Sorry I don't have any advice as far as 3rd key goes...I bet they will ask you a lot of questions about internal & external CS, and how you plan to handle issues.

Ditto what Bernadette said.

Those e/s combos all sound great, do you have a look that makes you feel fierce? If so, wear that!

I second wearing what makes you feel the most confident.. On another note, however, bright colors like Freshwater are much harder to apply well and are therefore more uncommon than a smoky eye... If the other employees at your counter are a little wild with their makeup, I would go for the bright colors to show them a)your skills with working with challenging/unusual looks and b)your ability to fit in with the best of them! Good Luck with whatever you choose!!

Well....

As soon as I get the pics uploaded, I wil post a FOTD of the look...I went w/ the Freshwater one, not cause it was more difficult, but more because it makes my eyes look super blue. My makeup skills have never really been questioned. Everyone always compliments me on my looks & my technique...so I wasn't really worried about that part.

But yeah, as far as the interview went...I think it went well. My manger seemed to like what I had to say. There are a few more people that have to interview. So it's out of my hands & I guess it all comes down to how good my competition was & the politics of MAC now. After the interview I did, however, spend a few hours in the office w/ my manager doing 3rd Key-type things, so that's gotta be good, right? (Or else she's just using me cause she knows how much I <3 numbers & math) I'm not getting my hopes but, I really really want it. Hehehe

I will know sometime next week...so when I find out, I will let you all know.

Ooo very cool. I'm forcing my managers to try to prep me for a 3rd key position but I get screwed because I'm only part-time so 6 months in and I'm not even certified for PHD! :-(

Anyway, good luck hun. Keep us posted. What did they ask during your interview?

It took me about 2 months to get to Basic, 6 months for PHD & 7 months to get fully App certified, so hang in there.
You're making yourself visible...so your time will come soon, I know it!

As far as what they asked....the interview was kind of a formality (since it's at my counter, my manager sees me work every day).
I was asked what I thought the position was about, why I wanted it & how I felt I was qualified, where I wanted to go in the company & then she gave me some scenarios & asked how I would handle it.

My SRM is coming in today...and it's the "middle of next week" so I'm expecting to hear back today. I am almost more nervous for the news than I was for the interview. I'll let you guys know when I get home from work.

STILL haven't frikin heard back! My SRM never showed up that day & as it turns out, my MRO was on vacation the week after I interviewed.

The longer & longer I wait the more & more discouraged I get.

But I did get promoted to Product Specialist last week...so that's a step in the right direction at least.

Don't get discouraged, you know you have the skills. Management, no matter what company it is, often drags it's feet.

Hope you hear back soon.

So I didn't get the position....they ended up bringing in someone who wanted to transfer back from the city.

I did get a full time though...so between that & the product specialist, in about 6 months, a managment position will be the next step.
