Are there any makeup brushes out there that are cheaper than MAC but still decent?

Some websites sell comparable brushes. You can check out Crown Brushes and A'Squirrel as well. Also, I think the Sephora brushes are pretty good. My own brush collection is a mixture of MAC and Sephora brushes. I try to get MAC brushes which are highly recommended and fill in the gap with other brands to save cost.

Sonia Kashuk brushes from Target. They rock! I use them daily and they've held up remarkably well considering how much i've washed them. and not much or no shedding with the eye brushes.

You should think about getting the paint brushes instead until you can save up for the MAC ones. Check out this youtube video(it convinced me!)

If you live in Canada you can get Quo brushes from Shoppers Drugmart. Or if you can get to a Inglot, their brushes come from the same factory as MACs but are cheaper.

I have some Essence of Beauty brushes and they're very soft and do a great job, even if they are drugstore brushes. I also heard good things about Posh brushes and one of the other ladies made a thread about them having a 50% off entire order sale

Costco has some really great brush sets. and Sephora has alot of great brushes and they go on sale too sometimes so if you can catch the sale its a great time to build your brush collection

most of my brushes come from Michaels Arts & Crafts store.

the Loew-Cornell style called "Maxine's Mop" in sizes 1/4 and 1/2 inch are perfect for applying eye shadow.

Sephora Brushes are really good...but I find the ones with the silver handles to be better than the ones with black handles IMO....and Sonia Kashuk brushes are also really good

sonia kashuk brushes from target!!!! they're amazing and they're a lottt cheaper than MAC brushes.

i also heard that NYX brushes are good, too, but i've never tried them.

I have to agree about the Sonia Kashuk brushes from target. The ones with the really nice, green gunmetal colored handles. The others are ehhh. Anyway, I used to love my 239, and I still do, but find myself reaching for my Sonia Kashuk small eyeshadow brush more often... even with cheap eyeshadows, it picks up so much color with the first swipe so your not standing there all day trying to get color on your brush!! The foundation brush is also nice.

No is the simple answer. I've used a lot of brushes and Mac's really are the best. Don't waste your money buying ones that aren't as good. Just invest in a few staples from Mac - you certainly dont need all of them!!! Get the 187, the 139, the 266, the 188, and the 217. Really that's all you need! IMO
