B2M policy counter v. store

My MAC counter manager told me today that the counter policy for MAC stores is different. She told me that for B2M, I could get any lipstick besides viva glam. I asked her, what about special packaging like catherine deneuve? She said that she was told that counters only (not stores) can take B2M for special edition packaging, just not viva glam. Anyone have any info on this?

Boy, there's a lot of people that only have counters available to them (myself included). Somehow, that doesn't seem fair. Yes, I'm whining.
